Question about Toshiba Satellite A105 Notebook

1 Answer

Update ogapsp: Thanks for your feedback, but I just discovered something that is the source of the problem. The fan appears to be working just fine BEFORE signing in and engaging Internet Explorer. Once signed in and on MSN for about 20 minutes, the computer then overheats and shuts down. The fan does not seem to work once online. I did not install SpeedFan yet. Suggestions???

Outside unit will only run for a short amount of time with A/C before the fan stops turning and starts humming, squealing/screeching and the top of the outside unit gets hot.

The bearings are bad in the motor and after the fan runs enough it eventually gets hot, making the bearing screech and the fan locks up. Need to replace motor again. See if it has a warranty. The reason it gets hot is because the fan is what removes the heat from the coil and if the fan isn't running there is nothing to cool it off so to speak.

Total loss of electrical power

Grounded positive lead or broken negative lead, main kill switch even thou you have a separate switch for your fan the source is from the main kill switch.

My samsung fridge/freezer is only 3 years old, just started making loud noise, then when the fridge is opened sounds like the fan making a loud noise that goes down and stops. Then not long after that...

Compressors usually make a thrumming/humming noise, so yes, this sounds like the fan. It could be something touching the fan blades, like ice or a wire. If you can unplug the fridge and remove panels near the fan, you may discover the problem.

Belkin cooling fan has stopped working

The problem may be a bent fan blade. It can be hard to see, so look carefully. On my Belkin, something got through the fan grill and bent one blade just enough to stop the fan. By removing the bad blade it continued to run fine.

Oven was heating and we got HEAVY smoke....

Nothing in the elements, thermostat thermocouples are gas filled, sensors have wiring inside, nothing in the liner or insulation. You said this was a stove, and some stoves have a vent that goes up through one of the burners on the top. If you had oil splatter or drip into this it can get into your oven. We do know that some blower fans on convection ovens have a sealed oil bearing, but there would be very little oil coming out of this (drops) and you will notice your fan getting noisier or running slower in the near future. Have you considered checking the lamp? It could be going bad.

Alot of loud feedback through speakers, a loud buzzing noise

What sources make it happen or which do not? All buzzing = something in the amplifier end. is it from all speakers or just one?
One external source= RCA cables not grounded. Reconnect them tightly with a twisting motion to wipe off oxidation.

I have an issue with Panasonic SA-HT545 Surround sound system and it keeps coming up with f61 problem and its not working now

I have a similar unit about 18 months old...just wouldn't start and gave me the F61 code. I opened it up and found that the fan on the back was not running properly...the fan's circuit feeds back info to the cpu that it is running...when not it shuts the system down. I powered the fan externally with a 20v power source and ran it for a while off the red and black wires (the yellow wire must be the feedback)and re-installed it. All is working fine...but I'll go out and buy a new FAN.
