Enter the bios. Set the first boot device to your bootable hdd or USB/DVD drives if you are reformatting and starting again with an OS.

Help with reboot message for Asus G1 notebook.

Sounds like its trying to boot from the Optical drive (cd/dvd drive) thats empty or has no disc in it. You will need to get into the BIOS and change the boot sequence. Select HDDR 1st to boot from your C: drive where your OS is.

I am sorry that the Computer is not booting. Please try accessing the BIOS by pressing the F2 key or Del key. In the BIOS windiow, press F9 to reset the BIOS to its default values. When I turn on my MSI M510C notebook - ''reboot and select proper

Your notebook does not see the proper boot files on your C drive. Many times the boot.ini has been corrupted.
You will need a Windows XP Install CD mounted in the CD Rom. When you boot the system you need to choose the CD as the boot device (if the notebbok does not do it by default) then typr R to enter the recovery console. Once you get the C: prompt you will need to create a new boot.ini file using the bootcfg command. See the following website for details in using the Recovery Console:

Computer beeping and saying reboot and select proper boot device

When you reboot, go to BIOS, restore factory BIOS settings. If that doesn't help, you'll need to reinstall your OS.

I've read this problem due to new hardware interferences with desktop computers, all they had to do is change a few pins around on the harddrives.. since this is a laptop, and is quite difficult and dodgy to access the hardware, the only other suggestion is to reinstall windows with a recovery disk, or windows CD-ROM.

Hope this helps :)
