Well the problem is quite confused.

If you have Windows XP or Vista the player should be a able to connect to computer without any driver disk. Just plug it in.
You should find the player folder in 'My computer' listed as a removable disk.
Just copy and paste music files into the MP3 player in my computer.
If you cannot store anymore music into mp3 player than it is probably full, delete some of the old music files to make space for new ones.

You should be able to plug it right into the USB port and drag and drop mp3 files right onto the player.
If you need any more help let me know.
Thanks,
Lee

MP3 players can only play music files in mp3 file format. You can download mp3 music files from the Internet toyour computer and then copy them to your MP3 player. For your CD collection, you need to convert your CDs tomp3 music files onto your computer or download them from the Internet and thencopy them to your MP3 player after you have connected the USB cable tothe MP3 player and the computer.

Where is the reset button?

Sorry, there is no reset button. If the battery is charged and there's music loaded on it, but it won't play, it's probably wrecked. Perhaps try reformatting it as a drive -- it may solve the problem or it may brick it.

I previously had an even cheaper device that used the same chipset, and it just died one day. The battery is still good, and it works as a flash drive, but it refuses to play music. Perhaps your device died in the same way(?)

The sound will not turn up on the station. Just plays low. This has hardly been used.Jenne Maag.

Yours may not be the same model as mine is, but mine has a "sound lock" option which for some reason was turned on when i got it. this makes the sound only go up to a certain decibel level.

EMERSON MP3 MUSIC PLAYER, EMP312-1, "FILE SYSTEM" ERROR

ok here we go i dunno how i figured this out lol but it took a while. okay so ur gonna go to control panel, device manager, and uninstall the driver for mp3 player. then disconnect mp3 player and reconnect it to reinstall mp3 player. it will recognize it as emerson mp3. right click on it (im running xp) go to properties, click on the tools tab and click on check now on the error checking and select both options of automatic fix file system errors and scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors. then hit start and it will start the process of fixing the file error. it takes a couple minutes and when its done disconnect the mp3 player n turn it on and voila!!! it works again. if u need more help u can e-mail me at davidh9732@hotmail.com. hope this helps yall so u dont throw them away
