Question about Frigidaire Affinity ATF7000ES Front Load Washer

1 Answer

The washer is stopping during the rinse cycle.

We have had the Affinity washer for a few years.  We use the washer maybe twice a week since it is only my wife and I.  Recently, I noticed about five minutes into washing, the washer gets stuck on the first rinse cycle and continually pours water into the tumbler.  Unknowingly, my wife and I went outside to complete some yard work and about three hours later the washer was still in its early cycle filling with water.  Oddly enough, the problem is not consistent.  Sometimes it works fine while other times it gets stuck in the rinse portion of the cycle.  Any ideas on the problem?  I read through the other postings and I noticed some locking system and control panel issues?  Could this be the issue?

Does it flood the room as it continues filling? If not maybe the outlet house isn't high enough - it need to rise up at least a couple of feet to prevent the water from syphoning out as fast as it goes in.

If the water is going in but only slowly, check the water valves in the line to the machine, and also the inlet filter gauze, to make sure they are not clogged.

If these suggestions do help you solve the problem, please give my reply a rating to help others judge my knowledge / guessing skills.
If they do not, please hold off on the rating and add a comment with more details so I can try to help you further. Cheers, D

Washer won t fill water

pipes maybe clear but is your area wher you live prone to limescaling? where the water pipe/pipes go into the machine there is a switch to shut on/off the flow of water during whatever cycle you want.this might be blocked or sticking. first try to select different cycles and see if any of those fills the machine with water. if no water comes its one of two things. that switch is faulty or communication between the switch and the front consule is at fault.
contact your supplier after trying to go thru a few different cycles.

During rinse cycle, washer just stopped, and won't continue rinsing/drain/finish

Have you tried restarting the cycle? If so, does it stop at the same exact place in the rinse cycle? If so, the issue is most likely the timer mechanism (cycle control) that needs replacing.
If it doesn't stop at the same place, it may be a flaky lid switch.

Kenmore HE4T washer won't rinse. Valves open to

An HF Code is a Water Inlet Problem- No or Insufficient Water Supply.

Press Pause/Cancel twice to cancel the cycle. Then, unplug the washer.

Run down the list again:
Make sure faucets are completely turned on.
Make sure the fill vavles (screens where water enter machine) aren't clogged.
Make sure the hoses aren't kinked, etc.

Plug the machine back in. Try another cycle. If the problem still occurs, You may need to replace your Water Fill Valve. Let me know if you need any further assistance.

My GE Profile Washing Machine Keeps Stopping

Repair requires replacement of the transmission / break assembly. Unless you are really attached to this machine, it's time for a new machine. Average life of a washer is about 11 years doing 8 loads per week. Look into the front load machines, which use about 1/4 the water and spin about twice as fast, and are gentle on fabrics while cleaning very well. Please don't bother rating this, as non FixYa ratings drop my rating, and I'm sure you don't want to shoot the messenger.
