Yep, When I went back to the tv after researching on-line here, it was working. The DTV rep insisted it was the tv. I told I didn't think so! Thanks for your input/help

The garbage on your unused channels are not important, just artifacts from signals not strong enough to produce a picture.
The 'blue screen' on #3 is what many sets use when they sense they are connected (terminated) to 'something' but not receiving any signal.

If sounds a lot like DTV's receiver took a hit.

If you have a second set you can borrow or drag to the receiver, try it first but I don't think it is your problem unless the cable input on it was zapped.

Power Went out for a minute and TV needs to be reset!!! Lock Mode Problem

Hi,

Do the reset test.I give this 50/50 chance of clearing it up. Disconnect the power cord for 4 hours. Then when you power it back up the internal soft codes will automatically reset to factory defaults.

Goodluck,

We have a Sony KV-35V36 TV. Will watching TV and the power just went off. We get no power all all anymore. How do you ge the the fuse on this TV.

The fuse is inside the chassis and likely soldered. Unplug the TV, press and hold the power button for 30 seconds, repeat. Plug it back in and see if that has reset it.
Is the outlet good, or did the power outage trip the breaker?

Blue screen, no picture

Hello celiap,

There is no reset button in the way you are thinking of a reset button. However because the TV is responding with a blue screen this means that the tuner input might have been damaged by the power surge. Have you tried to see if the tuner can pickup analog channels? turn the TV to a station that is normally strong in your area and see it the station can be picked up. If it can the tuner is working and the problem might be in the connection, if this test fails then I would assume that the tuner is bad and needs to be replaced.

I hope this helps

Thank you,

Flashing On Timer

This is usually an indication for a scan failure, and or high voltage failure. Also, the power supply may be damaged.

Depending on the nature of the failure, this type of service can be sort of expensive. I sugget to get an estimate before deciding.
