Help remove your battery pack, then try again, the reason for this problem because your battery is already trash, i know this because we have the same problem. and one thing more to expect from our low end aspire 3000, it will shutdown itself when it's hot.

Hi, i have an acer aspire 5315 icl 50 - when i turn the power on it just dies for no reason after just a couple of seconds?

Perform a simple test: release its battery pack and try to run on the mains power supply only. If it works, your battery pack has reached its end of life. In this case, buy a new one.
Hope it works for you.
Anyway, please, let me know if I can help you any further.
Regards, Carlos

I have a password problem on my laptop, but not window password it board password please help my out.

If you are talking about the password that is just ask when the comp starts....You can try this...

The power-on password prevents use of the computer until the password is entered. The
setup password prevents unauthorized changes to Computer Setup. To clear the
passwords, you must remove all power from the system board. If you do not know the
passwords, use the following procedure to clear the password:
1. Remove all battery packs.
2. Disconnect the AC power.
3. Remove the real-time clock battery.
4. Wait thirty minutes.
5. Reconnect the AC power. DO NOT INSTALL THE BATTERY!
6. Restart the computer. During Power-On Self Test (POST), a â 162 System Options
not setâ message appears.
7. Shut down the computer, then disconnect AC power again.
8. Replace the real-time clock battery.
9. Install the battery pack(s).
10. Reconnect the AC power.
11. Start the computer.

Laptop Battery

If your laptop is more than two years old, this might be due to the endup of battery life. You have to replace your battery pack. But the system date and time is not maintained through the main battery, there is a small battery pack attached with the motherboard that can be accessed by removing the underneath cover. Also change the motherboard battery pack to solve the problem of time resetting to factory default. Hope this will be helpful

Satellite a85-s1072 amber light blinking on and off

try running it without he battery, check if the fan is working, could be an overheating problem.
Do you get any windows errors?
install spreedfan utility and let it read internal temperatures plus fan rpm(rounds per minute)
if it gives you a warning, the shut down, clean the intereior using compressed air only (bicycle/ball pump) to remove any inside dust or carefully disassemble the notebook + clean after you have read the manual and know which screw hold which parts.
when cleaning with compressed air, remove the lid for RAM+Harddisk+pull out the battery pack to ensure circulation! now you have made sure the fan isn't stuck with dust and can't hang... reassemble and boot up, look if fan is running...
still the prob: do come again, please
reboot and wait for error...

Compaq laptop evo1000v will not power on from ac adapter or battery

give this a try:
remove the battery and ac.
hold the power button for 1 minute, this will discharge all remaining power.
try the ac power again and try to power on. if the power light doesnt come on, try another ac power pack for the same model. if it still doesnt work, time to call warranty support.

if it does, try it with the battery in and ac on.

let us know how it goes.

Forgot my admin passcode

If you don't know the BIOS password the best way to go about this will be to locate the CMOS battery and remove it. The CMOS battery stores the system's setup information (boot sequence, time/date, password, etc.) and most laptops don't have a clear CMOS jumper like desktop motherboards do. If you provide an exact model number we can help you locate the battery.

Otherwise you might have luck unplugging the AC power to the laptop and removing the battery pack. Try again after 24 hours.

Good luck.

IBM Thinkpad T21

This is a common problem with the T20 series Thinkpad. The problem is with the power management chip. Unfortunately, you will have to replace the motherboard to fix it. Since these are a bit on the older side, you can get a motherboard off Ebay at a reasonable price.

Have you tried a new battery pack for your laptop? Try removing the battery pack and then running it.

I have seen this symptom on other brands of laptop.
