You should only see the computer icon when plugging the 350 into a USB port on the PC. If you see it when plugging in a car charger/adapter, then there may be a problem with the mini-USB port on the 350 or the charger is an after-market charger that is not electrically compatible with a Garmin charger. Give Garmin Technical Assistance a call. They will run you through a series of diagnostic and reset button sequences to try. The unit may just be faulty; in either case you will find out after the diagnostics are performed.
There are a couple of possible causes here. First of all check the plug on the charger that goes into the cigarette lighter socket. Sometimes the end of the plug falls off so it won't charge. Also, make sure the socket you are plugging into is live. You can check this by plugging something elst, like a cell phone into it. Finally, sometimes the battery in the GPS merely wears out and has to be replaced. If these suggestions do not solve your problem then you should consider sending your gps into garmin to be fixed. Go to Garmin.com for instructions on how to do that.
The one supplied with the Garmin expects you to plug the GPS into the PC via the USB and if you use this to try and charge your Garmin in your car it will think it is connected to the PC and show the connection screen. it will charge the unit but you can't see the map.!!!
Make sure that you buy a lead specially for the Garmin for use in the car its the only type of SAT NAV that you will have this problem with.
Press the Power button on the top right corner of the case.
If unit will not power on, battery may be dead. Try connecting car charger or power adapter to unit.
To charge battery faster, leave unit connected to power adapter or car cord. Press and hold Power button to turn unit off. Screen will show "Going into charge mode."
Your battery is faulty. Did it come with an AC Charger? Ac chargers do a better job than the car Dc which really only manages to maintain a reasonable level of input. i suspect your internal batter is critical and either needs a thorough charge or replacement
Have you used the wall charger to fully charge the battery? If the battery is too low after lying around for a month it wil not start, giving it a couple of minutes of charging wo'nt help either, a good and full charge will!
