For the last few months, we have been unable to display the captioning on our 2002 RCA TV set in our living room. The captioning does show on the smaller sets in the kitchen and bedroom, so apparently the problem is not with our DirecTV satellite service. It is difficult to find a repair service to come to a residence; however, it would be even more difficult for two senior citizens to take a set of this size to a repair station. Please help. I have hearing difficulty especially when actors go in to their low whispery dramatic modes and I don't want to spend my evenings perched on a kitchen chair or propped up in bed all by myself while my husband watches our favorite programs by himself in the living room.

In the meantime, you may want to investigate assistive listening devices. These can connect directly to equipment and provide a direct link to either an ear bud or headphone setup. This is done with wireless technology and is often available at theaters and other venues for those with hearing difficulties.
Stay tuned...
