Same thing here. I printed 4 photos a 6 days ago and do a test print every other day. Everything other than black was printing perfectly up until last night. Today I do a test print in preparation for a large print and both the yellow and cyan have almost no ink coming out. The black is still missing 3 small segments.

I have done about 6 regular cleanings and 1 power clean in addition to some warm water in the printer head pads suggested elsewhere – still NO PROGRESS!

I went to the support site and saw a few options. Is your printer running ultrachrome ink or photographic dye ink?

I fixed my problem.

It was suggested to me to replace the "pump/cap assembly". I did so and it is back to normal. As explained to me, with age the cap does not make a tight seal anymore and therefore the pump can no longer really "****" the ink out when doing a head cleaning.

In any case, I replaced it and it worked. In my opinion, the pump was working fine and if I had to do it again I would first just buy the cap and replace that because that is what I think goes bad with age and not the pump.

If you any further questions, email me jorgedv@gmail.com

The pump/cap assembly cost was about $80 or so from an authorized Epson parts distributor.

Good luck.

Epson troubleshooting

What you have I highly suspect is a highly clogged print head. Even if you continue to clean your print head you will use ink to do it, so you will be spending a lot of ink and trust me it wont fix the problem. I have two epsons 1400 and had the same problem and used cleaning solutions but at the end it helped but did not fix the problem.
So at the I decided to use a cleaning solution that comes in cartridges specific for your printer. Its name is UNBLOCK UNCLOG CARTRIDGES, Its seller in E-bay is Sy1507. It worked. but for example it took me around three days. I printed a job and let it sit for a couple of hours until the page printed all white. After the page prints all white then you change the cartridges with ink and do a test print and if prints right, do a print job, You will be amazed at the results. Good Luck.

Can you Help me unclog my nozzle? Epson Picturemate PM240. Head cleaning 3x not successful: no blue ink at all. Print cartridge is brand new and showing 100% full. It tells me to replace the print...

Inkjet printers need to be used frequently to prevent inkdrying out in the print head nozzles.
If the print head cleaning maintenance routine does not clear the blockages, then print head needs replacing, but it may be expensive.
It may be more cost effective to buy a later model and better printer thanreplace the print head.

HP 812C will not print yellow but everything else is A-OK Repeated cleanings have NO effect. Cleaned contacts on printer where it connects to cartridge, no effect. HP 23 cartridge only has about 10 pages...

HTML clipboardHi,
It you haven´t used your printer for a while It sounds like the yellow has clogged up in the print head.
Although you have ink you need to print something regularly about every 10 days to keep the tiny jets open
otherwise it´s like trying to pass a camel through the eye of a needle.

So the inks may have clogged up?

The empty weights are 65g C6615A [No. 15] black and
90g C1823A color ink cartridge
anything over that... 1g = 1ml of unused ink.

So if you still have ink you can easily unclog it with a HTML clipboard Magic Inkjet Flush Kit (find it on Ebay)

Or you can read more here:

Epson 9600 print head missing numerous nozzels during test print procedure. Tried power clean several times. Do you have a remedy?

You willl probably need to clean the Pump Cap Assy.

You will need a strong flashlight/clip-on lamp to see what you are doing up in the area you are cleaning.

Move the print head to the left side of 9600. (If you need help with this let me know.)

Use a foam tipped swab slightly dampened with warm water to GENTLY wipe around the seal area of the Pump Cap Assy.

DO NOT USE A COTTON TIPPED SWAB !!!

Dip, Blot, & Wipe. Clean the Foam Swab often to wash off the residue it will pick up. Remenber to keep the swab slightly moist - not dripping wet.
---
If this does't help, it generally means that the Print Head is also very clogged with gummy/dried ink.

The Print Head cannot be cleaned without removing the Right Side Cover & then removing the Pump Cap Assy. This removing and cleaning is about a 1.5hr-2hr job for an experienced tech. Anyone with moderate mechanical skills can do it though.

Pump Cap Assy cleaning is usually done BEFORE replacing the Print Head.

If the Print Head cleaning doesn't work then a New Print Head is in order.

Hope this helps ! Good Luck !

Epson 9600 quit printing all colors even when trying to print head alignment, I have pulled off head and cleaned and power cleaned several time.

Normal 0 Driver could be corrupt.
Disconnect the printer or at least be sure it is turned off. I'd do both and reinstall the CD software program that came with the printer. When the software program asks you to connect the printer to the USB port, do so and it should again work properly.
Hope this helps. Bud

Epson 9600 suddendly stopped printing yellow

It's NOT a cartridge if this works... I had a similar problem with a 9600 I bought on eBay that had been inoperable over 18 months. Three colors would NOT clear up after multiple power cleanings. Epson support politely solved the issue at no charge on the phone... he had me drop a few drops of warm water on the pad the printhead rests on when not printing. You have to move the printhead to the left to do that by moving up the little lever near the cutter. The pad is easier to reach with a long eye dropper. I used very warm water- not boiling. I replaced the printhead over the warm water pad for an hour. Then I repeated the process and let it be for another 60 minutes. Then I did a nozzle check and what was gummed up yellow, cyan, and magenta nozzles became clear and it's worked fine since. Good luck!
