Tried to set netflix on my wii and an error code came up 50299

Hey, here are your options:

  • Power cycle your home network and perform a connection test on the Wii.
If your Wii was previously connected online, and no changes have been made to your home network, perform the following steps (if you have not previously connected your system online, skip to the next bullet point):
    1. Remove the power from your wireless modem and router. Plug the power back into both devices, starting with the modem.
    2. From the Wii Menu, select "Wii" in the lower-left corner, and then select "Wii Settings." Use the arrow on the right to move to the second page, then select "Internet," followed by "Connection Settings." Last, select your connection file, and the select "Connection test."

  • Create a new connection file.
  • Set up a new connection file making sure the Wii is attempting to connect to the appropriate wireless network and is receiving a strong wireless signal. How to Wirelessly Connect the Wii to the Internet Nintendo Support

Trying to connect to the internet for netflix to wii

Well you need first a home internet connection, and a wireless router. After that just go to the wii system menu, settings, internet, and you can connect to your wireless router with the password you setup on the computer to the router.

Have a wii in which netflex is attached . was working great now errow 51330 keeps poping up. what to try nextHave wireless router (belkin) tried to take off wireless and connect to insight router . that...

Resetting the Router
  1. Push and release the "Reset" button. The lights on the Router will momentarily flash. The "Power" light will begin to blink. When the "Power" light becomes solid again, the reset is complete.
Restoring the Factory Defaults
  1. Press and hold the "Reset" button for at least 10 seconds, then release it. The lights on the Router will momentarily flash. The "Power" light will begin to blink. When the "Power" light becomes solid again, the restore is complete.
If it still doesn't work, you will need to use a computer that is directly connected to the LAN port of your Router to configure it.
  1. Using your Internet browser, you can access the Router's Web-Based Advanced User Interface. In your browser, type "192.168.2.1" (you do not need to type in anything else such as "http://" or "www"). Then press the "Enter" key.
  2. You will see the Router's home page in your browser window. The home page is visible to any user who wants to see it. To make any changes to the Router's settings, you have to log in. Clicking the "Login" button or clicking on any one of the links on the home page will take you to the login screen. The Router ships with no password entered. In the login screen, leave the password blank and click the "Submit" button to log in.
  3. Select the menu to the left named Wireless - Channel and SSID. Configure Wireless Mode to G and B.
  4. Now select the menu to the left named Wireless - Security. Configure your security for WEP and enter your Passphrase.
  5. Save your settings on the router and then go back to the Wii.
  6. Try and connect to your wireless network and enter the security key.
  7. You should now be connected to your router, and internet should be working for the Netflix.
Note: If you have DSL or other internet connection requiring a bridged connection, etc., you may need to configure your router for PPPoE, PPTP, or L2TP.

Cannot connect the wii to wireless internet

Goto 'wii options' (bottom left of screen). Wii settings-> then page over to 'Internet' then 'connection settings' then 'conection 1'. Clear any setings. Then go back to connection 1 and click 'wireless connection' then 'search for access point'. If your wireless router is set up right in your home then you should see it as an option when you click 'OK'. Choose your connection, then enter your router password. If your wii can't find an access point then either your router isn't set up correctly or your wii's wireless is defective.

INTERNET CONNECTION

To connect the Wii to the Internet you will need a wireless router in your home. Otherwise, you have to buy Wii lan adapter to connect it with an ethernet cable.
To connect, go to Wii settings, then Internet, then Connection settings, then Connection 1.
Then click wireless connection and then let the Wii search for a wireless access point (a wireless router).
When your router appears on the list select it.
If your router has a key, then you have to enter it.
Press OK and you are finished.

When i first got the wii it asked me if i wanted internet and i said no well how do i get the internet back?

You have to set up a wireless network for your Wii. If you already have a wireless network in your home, simply go to the settings for your Wii and go to the internet button. Search for a wireless network. If it detects your's just connect. If it doesn't then get the WEPkey for your network using the computer you set the network up on and enter that into your settings for your Wii.
