Try cleaning the coils. The unit is self-defrosting too often and not allowing enough time for the water to evaporate.

Under yourrefrigerator/freezer is a set of coils and a cooling fan that you needto clean at least once a year. The coils may look like a grate or likea wide radiator. Unplug the refrigerator/freezer and use a RefrigeratorCondenser Brush (available in the accessories section of our website),and your vacuum cleaner to clean any lint, pet hair, and so on from thecoils.

The tray fill may be as aresult of the voltage cut down which fails the proper working of the system this will melts the ice and this will flow as water to the tray.

You can check the condensation tray for dirt or solid objects or ice blocking the drain hole. water should go down to the bottom part of the ref and dries by the heat of the condenser fan. if that drain is clogged with dirt , water would not drop quickly and as the cooling mode goes back, it will freeze the water and clogs the drain and eventually clogged your air circulation and the freezer will not work properly. another would \be the heater that should heat the drain pan. it would run at the same time the defrost heater is melting the ice at the evaporator in order for the water to drain out of the pan. it may be broken or open and no longer heating the drain pan. if it is then you shuld replace the heater.

i hope i was able to solve your problem..

How are the temperatures throughout the unit? top to bottom?
you should be 0-10ºF in freezer, 36-40º in fridge, at normal settings, which would be in the middle of each dial or control.
One thing that does cause frozen condensation, or as you described it frozen drops, on the freezer wall is a bad evaporator fan motor, or freezer fan. If this is the case, your icemaker wont make ice cuz its warm at top of unit, and things will be colder at the bottom of the unit, including the water tank for water dispenser, so it wont work either.

as far as the ice in your drain pan area, if it is indeed the drain pan you are referring, should not have ice, though a little may be possible, for that water should ALL go down the drain, if after one day you have some, that will only likely buildup more over time.

It cant be clogged with anything, you've only had it one day. You would have more frost in the first 24 hours, since you are starting from room temperature. therefore you would have more defrost water draining.

There is a certain temperature setting that will not create as much condensation. The colder the temp setting, doesn't necessarily mean it will lessen the condensation build up. Try going for the recommended setting, if it has one on the temperature adjustment. (Or reference the users manual if possible)

Your regrigator may need regassing or there is a fan that pushes the cold air, it may need servicing, the problem is condensation, it cloud also be a small leak, call an AC specialest

    Trouble Shooting Steps.,,

Check for leaks and Gas pressure

1.) connect a Gage and pressure meter to the gas relifim unit on the refgirator, Kepp an eye on the pressure meter and see if it constantly drops, this will alos determin the amount of gas in the unit. The amount of gas necessary is stated on a lable in the back of the Compressor.

If you determine a leak inject a dye into the gas pipe and look for the blue dots that apperar, Where you see the dots there is a leak.

If you determine regassing , is necessary regas using the describe gas on your compressor.

    To Check The Fan.

Look in the bottom of sides for a small vent, There should be a fan located there that pushes the cold air, If its spinning its good if it isnt check to see if its getting power by using a digital multimeter, If the power there but no turn then this will need replacing.

    TO service the Condensation Unit.

1.) dismantle the condensation Unit, YOu may need to turn iton its side to do this.

2.) there will be some seals that will need changong as well as the evaporator, Replace with described components..
You can tell if this needs changing by looking at it while operational and looking for the condensation build up..

If the Build up is rather fast then its because the freezer isnt cold enough to actually freeze the vapour in the air for the condensation unit to handle the filter the condensed water off..

If its over a period of time then the condensation unit isnt handling the condensed vapours propperly and will need servicing..

I trust this is descriptive enough to meet your expectations,, If you require further assistanc then dont hesitate to ask. Please supply the exact make and model you have and i will send you a link to a service manual..

I left the bottom freezer of my 650 ajar and when I returned the unit was producing a loud buzz - presumably a motor or fan. It turns off if I pull the shelf that contains the ice tray forward.

When the door is left open alot of condensation forms in your fridge which freezes and ices up. This build-up will gather around your evaporator fan which sometimes stops it from working or sometimes the fan blades scrape on the ice built up.

Best to manually defrost your freezer. Empty your freezer. Turn fridge off. Put a pot of boiling water and close the door. Leave for some time to defrost the ice. You can repeat this a couple of times to defrost the ice. Otherwise you can use a blow-dryer as well.

When you defrost, and turn your fridge back on. Everything should go back to normal.

My Sub-Zero 561 ice maker works fine however when it dumps ice into the tray and fills back up with water, the water pours out on the right side and into the ice tray. any suggestions

I had the same thing - turns out the wife tried to put a wine bottle in to the ice tray to chill it - in turn it had pushed the water pipe back a little too far and so was causing water to spill out - see if you can pull the pipe forward a little - you will need to remove the ice cube bin - and get in to a funny angle to get to it -but its do-able.
good luck

A whirring sound and leaking water.

See if the drip tray beneath your freezer is full and if so, empty it. That may be the problem. Also, there is a panel between the freezer and the tray. See, if the path provided by the panel, for the flow of defrosted water, is blocked with ice and if so clear it also.

Sub-Zero 550 - freezer unit is chilling, but not freezing

Ice maker was intermittent at best - ice was often just a shell. After two failures to correct we had the ice maker (a Whirlpool - on a Sub Zero - Go figure) replaced. Then the paddle that detects the ice level broke. Next step a new GE.

Sub zero freezer too warm

I believe the freezer has to get down to 7 degrees or lower for icemaker to harvest. Clean your condenser and blow it out. If that doe not fix it you will need service for sealed system

Sub zero 532 ice maker

When my repair tech came out, he showed me that the fill tube sometimes retracts toward the rear of the freezer. He simply pulled it forward with a pair of needle nose pliers until it rested in the delivery reservoir. This placement allows the detector to know when the tray is full and shut off; thus not overfilling the freezing tray and/or splashing additional water onto the freezer wall and into the ice cube drawer.
