Question about Dishwashers
We just came back from vacation and tried to run our dishwasher. We turned it on and all we can hear is a low hum. My husband kinda played with it and it will intake water. Actually the bottom tub is full of water now. Our manual suggested that it is due to lack of use??? We were only gone a week. Also we read something about the garbage disposal being clogged but the manual does not tell us where that is?
Any help you could offer would be great.
Had the same problem after not using the dishwasher for a few weeks and managed to solve it.
GE knows about this and has a solution posted at:
Basically, some motor seals dry out and stick. You need to pour some vinegar or citric acid inside the dishwasher to help release them. I poured vinegar (without diluting it) into the dishwasher and waited 30 minutes. This didn't help so I went on to order citric acid online
By the time the citric acid arrived the vinegar that was left inside for a few days did the work. It is now working fine.
