Green light is on my sons Ds but I haven picture r sound he dropped it

It sounds like something broke on the inside when your son dropped the DS. If you have a warranty, see if it will cover the damage, otherwise you will need to purchase a new one.

yes the new shell has this piece it's just not in the photo, it's in a bag not seen in most photos, you can replace this for about $25.00, or use a repair service on ebay

Nintendo DS Lite top screen broke on one side

The only way you can repair this properly is to replace the casing with a new one... the hinge is a common problem and over 90% of my customers on the DS and DS Lite need a new case due to broken hinges. Once the plastic bit has broken then it will only get worse. The small bit that you say fell out was the actual hinge itself (a small black part with a silver end that twists and locks your console into place when open). Hope that helps!

sounds like a cord was protected by the piece that broke and has been cut or damaged you should send it in for a replacement if it is still under warranty
