I had my ps3 hooked up to an hd tv but my tv broke and i have it hooked up to an old tv now. I'm having trouble getting a picture or sound is there any way I can configure it to my old tv?

Tries the PS3 with another tv?Make sure is not the PS3.Tries go into the tv menu to do tv audio resetting,so it can go back to factory setting,see if that make the PS3 it responses.

ur ps3's HDMI out is a full hd video (1080p). if u r tv does not support full hd this problem can occur. do one thing. connect the ps3 to any full hd tv and go to its video setup, then down scale its video resolution to 1080i. after that connect the ps3 to ur tv. u will surely get video.

When changing the display mode of the PS3 you must be in the correct mode and be using the correct wire. If in the shop it was last set up in HD mode, then you must be using an HD cable (component cable(wire with red/yellow/white) will not work. Also, make sure that your TV can handle the resolution it is set in. If your TV at best handles 720p and the PS3 is set in 1080, then you will have to hook it up to a TV with 1080 to change it back or you will not get a picture.

you need to go back on a HD TV turn on your PS3 and turn of the HD settings then it should work fine.

put it into standby(red light) and hold the on button until you hear three beeps, this will reset the video settings so you can play on standard def.

You system is still out-putting through the HDMI cable. Press & hold the "on" button after the system is already on, it should go back to regular factory settings & show up on your screen.

Are you guys setting your PS3 to 1080i or 1080p in the SETTINGS section? Just because you have an HDMI connection doesn't mean it automaticall switches it to max definition

Have you tried giving to your son to do

press front power switch to turn it on and hold for a few seconds, it will beep a few times and turn off automatically. now everything you setup for hd tv will be defaulted to normal.
