Right click my computer and choose properties then device manager

Look for anything yellow or has a yellow highlight or a ?
that means its eighter damaged or has a problem

you need to reinstall the drivers there are many ways to do this here are the easy 2
1.) you main board came with a driver cd, insert the cd, install the drivers then restart
2.) if you cant find the cd, download a program like driver magician www.drivermagician.com and install that program, it can detect and install your drivers for you automatically.

are that restart

verify that you have the correct device selected
1.) click start, all programs, windows media player
2.) click tools , options, devices
3.) click refresh and select the propper device ( speakers e.g)
4.) you can try different ones until you get one that works

If all the above fails you many need to reformat your computer, backup everything before attempting to do this,

1.) boot from a windows XP CD or insert in in the compuer
2.) follow the onscreen instructions to install it
3.) reinstall all drivers using any of the above described methods
4.) reinstall all your software

NB> FORMATTING WILL DESTROY ALL DATA ON YOUR SYSTEM

Formatting is the process of deleting all the information on your harddrive and reinstalling everyting.

BTW if the sound device is damaged it will also give this poblem

There is a work around you can use that wont involve formatting and fix the devices,, but it will cost you a bit. It involves buying a sound card and installing it.... just another suggestion

The way i see it you got 2 choices,

Format the system, reinstall windows and the software

    or

    Buy the sound card..

Buying the sound card is a definite fix.. if the hardware is damaged formatting wont correct that one. sadly

I removed programs from my computor by utilizing the Control Pannel. The result was "I now have no sound." External speakers or headset. What do I need to fix it?

Dependig your model of computer, goto the website and download the driver and try reinstalling the sound/audio device.
you probably just uninstall the sound max program which has drivers for it also.

Good luck!

{HELP!!}} Inadvertently removed midi sound

Hi,

A simple fix here. Perform a system restore.

There are a couple of way to do this: Click on the start menu and then click on run, in the box type rstrui.exe and press enter. Or you should find system restore in All programs, accessories, system tools and system restore should be there.

Once you have the system restore window up click on restore my computer to an earlier time and take the computer back to a time before you deleted/uninstalled the programs.

Good luck.
