i just purchased a P1i. I have been unable to make or receive calls on the phone when I insert the SIM from a particular GSM operator in my country. The phone accepts others. I did not buy the phone from the affected operator, so would say say it is networked-locked. When I bought it newly, I could make and receive calls, but after two days nothing worked again
Although I can receive sms but can not send

there are several factors why you are unable to send and receive messages and make outgoing calls and receive incoming calls.
network issue: are you the only one experiencing the problem? try to check with someone who is on the same location and is using the same network as you if he or she is experiencing the same problem as you. if yes, then it may be a problem with your network.
make sure that you have good signal and contact your service provider too and ask them if they have an ongoing maintenance in the area and ask if the sms and calls services are activated on your account
phone issue: if you have a good signal and still can't send, receive text messages, do and receive incoming, outgoing calls, try to do these: call the service provider and ask for the default network pin, then go to the settings of your phone, call settings, call barring, deactivate all barring
try inserting your sim card to another phone and try to send an sms
turn off your phone, remove battery and sim card and then wait for a few seconds, then put back the sim and battery and turn on the phone then try to send an sms
Ok, if this is the case, it is signal related. Hence, this can either be a sim card fault, or a signal receiver fault. Try your Sim card in an other phone, if you get the same error, you will need to replace your sim card.
If the problem does not persist, your phone signal receiver is faulty. This can be repaired at any cell repair store.
1. Turn the mobile phone off for a second and turn on, check if you have network signal. If still not working, try #2 2. Turn off the phone and remove the battery and sim from the phone for a couple of second. Return everything and turn on the phone. If still no network or no signal from you network provider, try #3 3. Turn off the phone and remove the battery and sim from the phone, insert the sim card to your other phone and check if you can make and receive calls and text messages. 4. Insert a your other sim card from your phone and check if you can do the same.
**With this, you can identify what needs to be repaired or replaced. (Sim card or Mobile Phone). If you cannot make and receive calls and text messages using no. 3 method, it is the sim card that has the problem and needs to be replaced. But if with #4, the phone has the problem and not the sim card. You need to contact your Service/Network Provider from technical help.
"unable to charge", "insert sim".
is your phone been dropped or got wet? if unable to charge, when using a wall charger, try different outlets. if using onl one charger, tr different chargers. if it won't work, try other compatible batteries if you would get a charging message. if does not work, have your phone checked with a service center
