Which television circuit board do I need?

Back - light problem. Check and replace damaged component/s at its back-light inverter board, or replace this board as card basis. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Surf the site with patience. Pull up older posts. It will be best to replace the inverter board as card basis.
http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/
To some model sets; especially LED back-lighted types; the back-light inverter circuit will be part of the main power supply board [SMPS]. In such cases, the power supply board might need replacement. To some models sets, the back-light inverter and SMPS section circuit will be integrated at its main board itself. If so; the main board should be replaced. To some models of sets, all these section circuit will be integrated at its main board. If this is the case, you have to replace the main board.

The TV will not turn on. Other items on the same power strip are working

Hello
If there is no power to the TV, check the power cord first. If it is OK, check the internal fuse. There is a cartridge galls type protection fuse on the power board. There are two power boards, one will be a small one which contains line filter coils, and have the fuse. The main boar will be a large one. Pictures of both of them are shown here. Just check the fuse first. If it has blown out, replace it with same type and Amps. If the replaced fuse also blow up as you switch on the set, there is fault with either main or sub boards. It is a good practice replace both at the same time with Plasma TVs.

gopakumarg43_16.jpgI fail to upload the picture of the main power supply board, as this site does not allow me to do so. If you send your email address to me by Fixya, I'll send it to you by return mail. There is nothing to look, as if the newely inserted fuse also blows of instantaneously, the tow power boards,[main and sub] should be repaced with original numberes. The numberes will be printed on them. Make sure to buy the originals, as plasma TVs won't go with substitutions. You can get the original boards from Authorised Service Center for LG at your town. OK

My tv just stopped working. When i felt the power supply box it was very hot. I unplugged the tv and after half an hour turned it back on when the power supply cooled down. The tv worked again but only...

Hello,

It's the problem of overheating in the power supply board of the Television.on the power supply board of the Television there are few capacitors and IC.any of this IC is got short or may be weak.so due to this when you start the Television the current passes from electric outlet to the power supply board of Television.but when the current passes from that weak/faulty part at that time current gets stopped or slow and the board overheats and Television shuts off. this is a common problem faced by many other users too.the possible option to solve this issue is to check the power supply board by a meter and continuity tester and replace the faulty component on the board which is short due to which power supply board is getting overheated.its bit technical job but yes its not at all a costly repair to do or get it done by the technician. for required parts it can be easily available from local electronic hardware shop television
This will help in solving the problem.....

Television power light is on, but can't do anything with the television. Have tried ALL of the potential fixes listed on the web with regards to holding the power button and have also called Sharp.

Sounds like a blown capacitor on the main power board. look for the cylinder shaped capacitor on the board that the top looks bubbled up (rounded not flat). It's usually 2200uf capacitor. you will have to unsolder it and replace it or just replace the board. Capacitor $5 board moe like $200. try the cap first. they are available at radio shack. may be different in size. you will have to run extra wires to the new cap sometimes.

THERE IS SOUND AND NO PICTURES

Hello,

If You are having sound but no picture in Your television, then it means there is a problem, the problem mainly is caused by a bad t-con board of the television. As soon as you take the back off the set, the t-con board is located at the top middle of the set under some shielding. To replace the t-con board of the television, please get a screwdriver, a glove, a cup and a replacement t-con board.
  1. Turn off the television,
  2. Unplug it from the power outlet and leave it to rest for about 6 hours so the high voltage will dissipate,
  3. I know You will be wondering what the cup is meant for, it is for You to keep all the loosened screws so it will not get missing,
  4. Then You put on the hand gloves,
  5. Then You Turn to the back of the television, take out all the screws around the back of the television to be able to access the main panel,
  6. As soon as you take the back off the set, the t-con board is located at the top middle of the set under some shielding.
  7. Take off the shielding remove the t-con board,
  8. Then You Replace it with the new one You got for it, I will advice You take out the old t-con board so You will be able to get the exact type of t-con board that best fits in with Your television,

Sound with no picture

Hello,

The problem with the television is that there is a faulty component inside the unit. The faulty component is the t-con board. It is mostly located in the upper middle of the main boad of the television, once Your television does not have this, then it means it is the ballast that need to be replaced. To replace the t-con board, please follow the steps below:
  1. Get a screwdriver, a glove, a cup and a replacement t-con board,
  2. Turn off the television and unplug it from the power outlet, leave it to rest for about 6 hours so the high voltage will dissipate,
  3. Then You put on the glove, pick up the screwdriver and unscrew the screws around the television and put them in the cup so they will not get missing,
  4. Then You Lift up the main board of the television and check for the t-con board,
  5. Remove it and replace it with a new one,
  6. Reverse the process to reassemble the television back together,
  7. Plug it in and power it on, the screen will work once again.
If that does not do it, then You follow the process to step 5,
  1. But this time it is the ballast You should take out,
  2. Replace it with a new one,
  3. Reverse the process to reassemble the television back together.
Hope this helped. Thank You for using FixYa!!!

My picture went black

Hello,

If You are still getting sound from the television and it is just the picture that went black, first check if the cable that is connecting it to any other device is tightly secured. If it is, then it means the televisions t-con board is bad and need to be replaced. To replace the t-con board, please get these instruments, a cup, a screwdriver and a replacement t-con board Then follow the steps below:
  1. Turn off the television,
  2. Unplug it from the power outlet, and allow the television rest for about 6 hours, so the high voltage on it will dissipate,
  3. Then You put on the gloves and unscrew the television open,
  4. Then You locate the t-con board, it is at the top middle of the main board of the television,
  5. Disconnect it and replace it with a new one,
  6. Then You reverse the process to reassemble the television back together,
  7. Plug it to a power outlet and power on the television.
