Any audio device that produces a digital output via spdif can feed the unit at that input.

For the future: speific model numbers are more helpful. We could refer to a specific manual.

How to connect my hdtv to surround for audio

It looks like from my searching you have an optical link on your tv and your reciver. You should just have to choose that as your output on the tv and your input on the reciver. It should be labled something like spdif. In my opinion it is the best cable ever until hdmi came out now its still really good.

What cables do i need to connect to a t.v. to get surround sound please

It depends what the source of the sound is. If you are using a dvd player or hifi/dvd combo that has surround, dobly pro logic, surround simulation or cinema sound...it will have HDMI, Optical, Digital outputs. The newer items use the HDMI to send Audio and Visual signals to the Hifi. If not...you will either have to do the simulation on your hifi if it has that feature. You can also use the SPDiF or Optical cable from your source to the hifi. If all that is missing...the standard 3-way RCA cable (Yellow,Red and Black) will do where yellow is video and the red and black is the stereo source of sound.

Have lenoxx ht 500 surround sound speakers & dvd but dvd is broken, need to purchase another dvd player but can't source lenoxx model, what other models can i connect surround sound to? or whe

If your surround sound receiver unit has rca audio inputs(red/white), you can hook up any brand of DVD player that has rca outputs. You would hook the yellow output from DVD player to yellow input on TV. Hook red/white output from DVD player to red/white input on surround receiver. Hope this helps.

I am trying to hook up my Pioneer vsx-455 to a LG LED LCD TV. I am not sure on how to do this and I can not find a manual anywhere. Can you help me?

your reciever does not have hdmi, so the audio is not going to be true DD+ or DTS for broadcast tv.

if your dvd/blue ray player has digital optical spdif, this can be used to transfer the encoded DD+/DTS digital audio.

the besat way to run your tv audio through the reciever is to hook up the dvd/blue ray player up with (perferrably) digital optical spdif, composite spdif or (least favorably) through the stereo stereo analog inputs on the reciever for "dvd" audio in and hook the video from the dvd/blue ray up to the corresponding "dvd" video component input on the reciever.

this way is only going to get your dvd/blue ray sound, next you need to hook up your cable box to the reciever so that you can get broadcast tv sound. hook up the cable box audio to the "tv" stereo analog audio ins, and hook the video to the corresponding "tv" video component inputs.

the component video inputs have separate jacks for red, green and blue ( labeled "Y" "Pb" and "Pr") and are capable of carrying a 1080p full hd signal. use the component video outputs on the reciever to output the video signal to a component video input on the tv, using the receiver's input selector to change the video source.

Can I hook up my ada 885 to my dvd player& my flatscreen tv?

Yes. They are essentially Similar to any other 120 Watt Surround System for Home Entertainment. The Fact is, the only major difference is that the connections are different. On The PC it uses Stereo Standard Outputs. On Your DVD Player, It Will most Likely require an adapter to RCA (red/white -usually- Audio Cables). It just depends on your DVD Player. Have Fun!..... :)

Help getting sound from New Sony LCD Television Model XV HTD520 DVD Player with Surround Sound S HTD520

While I could not find it in the manual, I found that you must
go to the menu, open Sound Options and set Speakers to "Fixed".

Note: If you turn off the Surround Sound or DVD player combination you must then go back to the menu and turn the speakers back to Televsion.

Pioneer vsa e06

depends what audio outputs you have on the sky box, analogue (two phono usually red for right channel and white left channel)in which case just use phono leads to the phono inputs,Optical(toslink),connect an optical cable from the output to the optical input on the dvd channel of the pioneer, coaxial (spdif)connect to spdif input on the laser disk input of the pioneer, dont connect to the attenuated spdif. In the unlikeley event of the sky box not having any audio outputs, just use the outputs from the tv to the pioneer. The optical digital input gives the best quality on the vsa eo6
