SOURCE: KVM Trendnet TK-207K switch

According to their website, the driver is Vista compatible.

When you attempt to switch PC's, do they both stop responding, or just one?

Usb kvm switch unknown device

I had the same issues here and switched the USB cables to newer ones and the switch showed up and downloaded the drivers immidiately. It ended up being a incompatibility not with the KVM switch itself but the USB 2.0 cables that were used. Try it on one port and see if that helps?

Screen blacks out on KVM

I have had this happen to me a few times. Usually it is the video card/driver. By KVM I assume you mean a KVM switch that goes to both computers, so you can switch between them? I have had trouble with them, too, so try putting the VGA straight to the monitor and see.

I have a Trendnet TK-209 KVM switch. My keyboard and mouse (MS wireless) that worked well for a year stopped working through the switch. they work well if connected directly to each computer.

I can confirm the same problem happened with me just now. I have TrendNet USB/KVM TK-207 and was flawlessly working with Logitech K260 Wireless Mouse and Keyboard Combo, but today on both computers all I can see is the error:

.
USB Device not recognized - The last USB device you connected to this computer malfunctioned and Windows does not recognize it.

I unplugged the usb wireless adapter and connected it directly to the PC - it worked like a charm again. I have tried to connect the wireless adapter to the mouse port hoping that the keyboard USB port is causing problems, but all I got was the same error. I have tried to conect a normal USB keyboard, but again the same error I get for both - the mouse and keyboard, so it is more than obvious now that the USB ports of my KVN Switch are malfunctioning. I will try to leave it for a while if it got hot somehow as it was connected for more than 6 months working perfectly fine, but if not, I am heading to the store for support/replacement.

Mouse and keyboard not recognized on second computer

Solution for the mouse. I have 8 KVM's. Most of my computers work with the KVMs. On 1 inland KVM the logitect and Microsoft optical mice do not work on one computer (but work with the other computers). They both are USB. I hook them up with a USB to PS2 adapter. If I use a ps2 ball mouse connected to the KVM the mouse works. All the Mice work if I directly connect them. Since I do not want a ball mouse I got a Frisby optical PS2 mouse. It works with all the computers on the KVM's.

I do not have a solution for the Keyboard yet. 1 computer (ASUS MB) on my trendnet or belkin 4 postion KVM does not recognize the keyboard.

Kvm switch won't stay on second computer, switches back

You might try disabling any power saving schemes in use on either computer. The KVM (I believe) gets its power through the ports and one computer may be shutting down power.
