Have just got a new o2 sim card free txtxs and o2 calls but ts asking for a puk code

Hi, this is a common problem, the PUK code is the security code for the sim card and not the phone so you have a few options open to you,.
1. if you still have the pack the sim card came with then this will have the PUK code written on it
2. if you no longer have this pack then you can get your PUK code for free over the fone from your service provider, so say your sim card is with vodafone then all you need to do is giv them a call and they will give you the PUK code over the fone for free,
3. if you have a shop by you that is the same provider as your sim card like say orange or vodafone then take your fone into them and they can give you the PUK code over the counter for free.
4, if you no longer need to use that sim card then you can go out and buy a new sim and this will come wiv its own PUK code.

NEVER TRY GUESSING THE CODE AS ITS BETWEEN 10 AND 12 NUMBERS LONG AND IS TOTALLY RANDOM AND EACH PUK CODE IS UNIQUE TO THE SIM THATS ASKING FOR THE CODE,
NEVER PAY ANYONE TO GET YOU OR GIVE YOU THE PUK CODE AS ITS FREE TO GET AND THE PUK CODE BELONGS TO YOU SO ALL YOU NEED TO DO IS CONTACT THE SERVICE PROVIDER THE SIM CARD IS WITH AND THEY WILL GIVE YOU THE CODE FOR FREE OVER THE PHONE.

Hi if your phone is asking for the PUK code then what this means is its not a security code for the phone its the security code for the sim card, to solve this problem you have a couple of options.

if you need to use the sim card that is asking for the PUK code then all you need to do is call your service provider and tell them you need the PUK code they will then ask you for either the phone number for that sim card or they will ask for the number written on the sim card itself, they wont charge for giving you this code and will give it you over the phone. the code is between 8 and 12 digits long so dint try guessing as you only get 10 chances then the sim is blocked and can no longer be used.
so give your service provider a call and they will give you the PUK code for free over the phone.

now the other option you have is this, if you dont need to use that sim card that is asking for the PUK code then all you need to do is get a new sim card that is accepted by the phone if your phone takes any network then use any network you prefer to use if its locked to one network then you need to get a sim card the same as the network your phone accepts such as the one asking for the PUK code, when you get a new sim card you are given the PUK code written on the card the sim card is stuck to, so getting a new sim card will also solve your problem.

its up to you what you do but both ways will solve your problem, the cheapest would be to give your service provider a call and unlock the sim thats asking for the code.

Most network providers give sim cards away so if you want to get a new sim card have a look around and see if you can get one for free.

Hi the PUK code is the security code for the sim card and not the phone you can only get the PUK code for the sim card by ringing your service provider you need to give them the sim cards number and they will then give you the code for free over the phone.

if you have entered the code wrong more than 5 times then the chances are the sim card is now blocked and can no longer be used.

you can put a new sim card in and this wont ask for the PUK code, how ever if the sim card is blocked you will lose all the info stored on the sim card such as numbers,texts etc so make sure you dont try guessing the PUK code as its totally random code and the only way of getting this is by calling your service provider

Hi,the PUK code is the and "personal unlocking key" code which is generated specifically for your sim card by your service provider.
The puk code can be found in your sim certificate,which comes with your sim pack when you purchased the phone,However,if you don't have the sim pack,you can call your service provider(O2)and request for your PUK code,which will be given to you for free,just provide a proof of ownership of your sim card.

call your mobile service customer care number and ask your puk code from them...they will ask yourr last 4digit sim card number...give that number to them...they will give puk code ...use that code and continue your operation

you have entered the pin code wrong 3 times now you are required to enter a puk code to reset the pin code. 

The puk code is sim card spesific it comes with the sim card when you get it or you can get it by calling your phone service provider of the sim card to get the puk code. 


if you have entered the puk code wrong too many times you will make the sim card useless and you will have to contact your phone service provider for a new sim card, it will probably cost.

my phone is asking for a puk code but iv lost mine so i cant openit this happernd after i was messing around with the security key
