    how do i fix this

  • Anonymous Dec 02, 2008

I am a desktop support tech with an oil company. We have been seeing quite a few issues with these phones. I have a list here of 4 phones that are all having this issue, intermittently.

Between the 4 phones, we have seen this issue 14 times! 80% of the 14 issues were temporarily resolved by replacing the phone, the other 20% were resolved by reloading software.

We are using these for business use and there are NO additional applications/themes installed on our phones ever. They are never plugged into a computer.

AT&T Enterprise Support swears there is no issue with them. I am not sure if it is an AT&T issue or a Research In Motion issue, but there is definitely an issue/bug somewhere. 14 occurences of the same issue accross 10+ phones is not a coincidence.

    Hello,

I've faced the same problem recently two times in a row. My GSM provider gave me a new device (BB 8310 Curve). After 5 days, the problem had appeared again on the new phone. UNBELIEVABLE! I have a feeling they had put Memory Card from the former phone they had replaced. Whether it's related or not, I have no idea. No additional applications installed, it simply stopped functioning while laying on the table.

I ran the Loader.exe at Research in Motion/Apploader with th BB linked to pc without the source battery like they said in this brazilian forum (http://www.plusgsm.com.br/forums/archive...), but won't worked anyway.

You can try a soft reset, hold down left ALT, right Shift and delete simultaneously for a couple of seconds.

If that isn't working or you don't get the timing right. You can try resetting by turning the device off, remove the baterry for 1 minute or so, reinsert and turn the device on.

The error should have disappeared, if not let me know any other issues you may have noticed.

App 523 error reset

1) Make sure you have Blackberry Desktop Manager installed.
http://na.blackberry.com/eng/services/desktop/
2) On your PC, go to Start > Run and copy and paste the following line exactly (meaning with the quotation marks):

"c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader\loader.exe" /nojvm

3) The Application Loader Wizard will appear -- click "Next."
4) In the "Connection:" drop-down menu, you should see "USB-PIN: UNKNOWN". Click the "Next" button.
5) You should then see a list of applications ready to be installed for your Blackberry. Hit Next and Finish and you are well on your way to getting your Blackberry back to life. Congrats! Just don't disconnect anything and let the lengthy process finish completely.

NOTE: If you do not see a list of applications mentioned in step 5 and instead see the message "The Blackberry Desktop Software does not have Blackberry Device Software for the device that you have connected to the computer. Contact your wireless service provider or system administrator," then you must download Blackberry's Operating System for your carrier and device.
http://www.blackberryfaq.com/index.php/BlackBerry_Operating_System_Downloads
Just select the appropriate carrier and network type, select your Blackberry model from the list and download the latest version. Install this download and follow the above steps again and you should be on the right path.
