Question about ASUS A8N-SLI Motherboard

1 Answer

Low sound output level since Vista SP1

I am using "soundman.exe" from RealTek

On the image, you can see that
The "jack sensing" feature seems lost ... all I get is "line out", never change, that would explain the low sound volume ... of course I tried to connect all the others jack, but with no success....
All I would like to have is a working "speaker output" on one of the output ...

Any idea ?

I am running Vista 32 SP1

Are they powered speakers? Try using the front panel headphone jack. The colored jacks under the 6.1 are configureable to be used by different speakers, like center channel, etc. Good luck in Vista or XP on a Vista MOBO.

You need to install the correct version of the sound drivers from the MSI website under your motherboard type. Third party or from Realtek sound drivers won't make you sound chip works. If after installing sound drivers from MSI website still don't work then your on board sound chip colud be defective.
