What causes Opel kaddett 200is to jerk ? Why is the exhaust black becoming black?

burn oil bad rings or bad valve guides. if it using a lot of oil. or it can be the intake valves stem seals asn oil is mixing with th fuel. same on exhaust stem seals but its uses more dusty black as its not being burnt just pushed into the exhaust. these all can give black smoke. you can tell alot more from what colour your spark plugs are. and a compression test will identify if its a gasket or the rings or valves. do dry test then do a wet test with 3 drops of oil. and if the compression has gone up more than 1 psi you have a problem. also check the oil filler if you pump air into the piston and you can hear it a lot coming out of the oil filler its the rings gone. if you hear it out of the air intake its the intake valve side and if out the exhaust its the exhaust valves. all these is best to be done before you decide to take the engine apart to look for the problem as this will identify the problem., ecotec engine can also be the hydraulic valves blocked so if this engine is installed check them as leaves valves open to long. and can be loud tapping and also a ting sound. usually means they are blocked and oil change is also need. as they are feed from the engine oil.

I got new switches for Musso Stella ice cream machine. Cannot figure out how to get into the thing to replace the switch! How do you take off the top of the machine so you can get to the switch connec

Try using ice. It will shrink the part slighty enough to pull it out.Boiling water will make the the parts expand. If you use oil, use a penetratig oil only. Spray in the oil, have a beer, and the try to pull out the stem. Do not use heat. Hope this helps.

How to attach bontrager pump to presta valve

This pump does not need any presta valve adapter, the head unit is a dual unit for both presta and schreader.

1. On the bicycle tube. Open the valve by unthreading the small metal cylinder located at the very end of the valve stem. DO NOT force the the bead to come off of its threading. A couple spins counter clockwise will do the trick.

2. Insert the valve stem into the filler head. The lever on the back of the filler head should be "down" at this time.

3. Connect the filler head to the valve stem by lifting the lever on the head "up".

4. The valve stem and the handle on the filler head are now in parallel to each other, basically inline with each other.

5. START PUMPING.

6. If loosing considerable air while pumping, Try reinserting the valve in to the filler head, deeper, for a more secure fit.

If the issue persists, use a presta valve adapter on the valve stem. Traditionally used to convert presta valve heads to schreader heads, for use with filler heads not compatable with presta. A one dollar part available at any bike shop. Usually used in a pinch while airing up at gas stations or with schreader only pumps.

White smoke petrol 1.4 renault clio.not stem

White smoke: White smoke is caused by water and or antifreeze entering the cylinder, and the engine trying to burn it with the fuel. If white smoke is present, check to see if the proper amount of antifreeze is inside the radiator and the overflow bottle. Also check to see if antifreeze has contaminated the engine oil. You can look at the engine oil dipstick, or look at the under side of the engine oil filler cap. If the oil is contaminated with antifreeze, it will have the appearance of a chocolate milkshake. Do not start the engine if the oil is contaminated with antifreeze, as serious internal engine damage can result.

It is also possible to be a engine problem you should immediate visit a car service.

2000 dakota 4.7L. When first started after sitting sounds like no oil in top motor. Sounds like valves chattering. Only last for about a second. Then starts up fine as long as it doesn't sit for awhile....

I had the same vehicle. The 4.7 oil filler tube was a design defect. I don't think there was an official recall on it, but in later years, there was a change to the design. Dodge did say that it was not a problem though. As far as the valves chattering, I had the same thing. Just takes a while for the oil to flow back up. A good resource for all of this is www.dodgedakotas.com. Does require a small membership but the information is good.

How do I tighten the faucet handle. The handle is floppy and unless you put downward pressure on the handle when you turn it, it will continue to move from left to right

From what you have described it sounds like the stem in which the handle rests on is stripped and allowing to move from side to side.

Remove handle it has a set screw in the side of it and turn water off. Check the stem may be in need of replacing or the retaining nut that holds the stem down to counter top may be in need of tighting.

Accidentally got alot of water in oil filler cap and ran it. the car shakes now. is there anything i can do

Drain the oil and change the filter. Water in the oil filler cap will not cause the car to shake. I suspect you got water in some electronics. After you change the oil/filter keep driving the vehicle and this may clear up. If not seek professional help.

My xplorer 500 has been sitting for a month or so due to a dead battery I tried pull starting it and I noticed that there is oil running in to the air box what's the problem

Hello,

It sounds like you have too much oil in the crank case. It is due to one of three things, First, someone over filler it ( hard to see clear oil on the dipstick), Second the ATV was sitting outside and it got water in the crankcase somehow, or third, you could have gasoline that drained past the needle valve spilling into the cylinder, past one of the partialy open valves( intake ), leaking past the valves stem seal right into the crankcase. Or leaking backwards through the air box and right down the breather tube into the crank case. Either way drain the oil completley and add you oil to the full mark. Don't worry about changing the oil filter unless the oil is filthy black.

That should stop your oil problem in the air box.

Hope this helps

Have 1996 volvo 960, fome developing in engine oil. causing dipstick-stem to rust.suspect condensation or non-functioning crankcase ventalator as not using coolant water. ready for oil change. extesive and...

Condensation usually builds up due to short runs, you go to point a from point b and then back to point a in less than 30 min. and the oil just gets warmed, not enough to get rid of condensation.
