Possibly you are trying to load it from the back with the arm out. This way does not work. With this stapler you must pull the arm out all the way and then drop the staplers in the bottom. Too easy, right? I felt like a dumb a$$ after fighting this one for an hour. By the way, it will take heavy duty staples but you need to match the item codes printed on the side of the stapler with the box at ACE hardware. Hope this helps... Say "yes" to "was this solution helpful?" so I can know that im not the only one who did this wrong :)

YES!! I was also feeling like a d-a$$. I knew it wasn't rocket science, but you are correct. It does not work loading with the arm pulled out (vs. removed.) Thank you, isypoo!

Danny Murray said, "At the very bottom of the stapler in the back there should be a square mechanism. Press in and down then just slide the staples in and replace the mechanism the way you took it out." This is correct but I want to clarify -- you don't place the staples onto the sliding mechanism, but instead must lay them directly into the slot formed in the stapler body -- the same slot in which the mechanism slides. You'll see the slot when the mechanism is pulled out. With the bottom of the stapler facing upward and the spring-loaded mechanism pulled out, lay the staples in the slot, pointed sides up. Continue holding the stapler upside down and push the mechanism back into place, sliding it over the staples. Lock the mechanism into position by firmly pushing up and then down on the end-cap.

SOURCE: reloading ace 22084 staple gun

Hello there:
when you purchase staples for this particular gun even though you might get a staple that is says it fits this gun you need to look at the type of staple if you get the one that says heavy duty it will not work it took me 2 times to find out the right ones for this gun it comes in a green box and says standard duty on it not heavy duty this is where most people make their mistake. ok?
best regards michael

SOURCE: staples are stuck inside the stapler and will not come out

Typically you do not open these up.
Makes it difficult to remove stuck or wrong staples.
I have had good luck removing the staple ram rod and rapping firmly on the **** of the stapler against a wooden table. The idea is jolting the stuck staples into reverse out the way they went in. Tedious process but usually works. Removing the jammed staples in the nose at the striker plate requires using needle nose pliers and a sharp awl or small screw driver used on very small screws.
My T50 Arrow stapler is over 20 years old.
Still works great. Sometimes I slide in the wrong size staples by mistake. The process above usually works.
Good luck!

How do you load a ace heavy duty clipper stapler model number 82?

I found some information here:
ACE STAPLE Quality Tradition for Over 50 Years

It takes the Clipper Undulated Heavy Duty 3/8" Staples. On the back of the stapler, there is a loading rod. Remove the loading rod and place a set of staples in the chamber, then re-install the loading rod.

Where do I get staples for a B&D stapler? #9700

There are several brands of staples that will fit your stapler and the price will vary according to the depth of staple you are looking to buy. Arrow brand staples are the most common. All the ones I saw that fit the 9700 are Wide Crown Swingline Heavy Duty

Hello. I have a model #1000 Swingline Power Gun. It says, the extra heavy duty staple gun on the handle. I would like to purchase a box of 1/4" and 3/8" staples. The gun is so old I don't know the new...

Went to the local hardware and read the labels. The store brand fit and works as good as the original staples. The 1000 has outlasted several of the new fashion staplers. And the local hardware store is an Ace Hardware.

Stanley TR70 Manual Stapler won't accept Arrow 1/4" staples

It sounds like you have a light duty stapler and are trying to use heavy duty staples. 1/4" refers to the length of the legs not the thickness of the actual staple. You probably just need light duty staples.
