Question about Gaggia Titanium Espresso Machine

1 Answer

Gaggia Titanium Display frozen on rising cycle. Last time we discovered that it had to go through a rinse cycle filling up as many times until this process stopped. This stime it seems to be stuck. Can't seem t shift it at all. Also how do we remove the interior mechanism where the arrow indicates its does not seem to come out. Any suggestions on this.

I've got the same problem... rising cycle is in a loop It doesn't stop probably I've filled the tank more than 15 times

same problem as described. Had the problem several months ago and support sent instructions on how to resolve it. The resolution involves removing the brew unit, removing a screw in the back, putting something in the sensors to trick the machine to think the tray, brew unit and the door are in place. then it finishes and rotates the main gear. From there you can put it all back together and put the screw back in. However I forge the exact steps and am looking for confirmation.

Rinse cycle displays but doesnt perform the rinse cycle

If it's stuck in rinse keep adding water until the cycle is complete.
It may take a while.
This is a common complaint

Tip

Gaggia Titanium, cycle is stuck on rinse and does not complete.

This problem is common on Gaggias. Sometimes if you wait 30 minutes or more, the machine will complete the cycle and go back to normal functions.
Just wait to allow time for the rinse cycle to complete, when machine is stuck it can take over 30 mins.
You can do this by continuing to fill up the water resovoir four or five times to see if the machine completes the rinse cycle on its own.

If that doesn't work contact Gaggia, US number is 888-389-4123, for contact number in your area consult your user manual.

Gaggias may give you some trouble of this kind from time to time, but they are good Italian brand coffeemakers, and the coffee is usually really great.

What are the specific instructions on how to descale our Gaggia coffee maker? I have the Dezcal descaler pouches.

Can't give specific instructions without knowing which model it is. If it is a super automatic such as the Titanium, you put it into descale mode and then follow the prompts on the display.

If you have a semi automatic such as a Classic or Coffee or Carezza etc. you simply mix the dezcal with warm water in the reservoir and run the pump a little to spurt a few ounces of water out the brew group - and some out the steam wand. Then stop the pump and let it sit for a few minutes - and then start the pump and spurt a little more out the brew group and the steam wand - and so on for about 20 minutes or so until the tank is empty. You get the best results if you let the solution sit in the boiler for a few minutes (maybe 5) between each time you run a few ounces out. After you've emptied the reservoir, rinse the reservoir really well and fill it with clean water and run the whole tank of water through the group and the steam wand (mostly through the group head). I like to rinse a few tanks full just so it is really rinsed well - but one or two tanks is supposed to be enough.

If your machine is a Titanium or Platinum, the readout will tell you what to do - they usually only spurt descaler out the steam wand and not out the brew spout since all the brew parts are plastic and don't need to be descaled. And the steam wand routes the descaler through both boilers so you get all the important parts that way. It'll keep cycling you through opening the steam valve and then waiting 5 minutes and then opening it again - until the tank is run empty (so you may want to mix up the dezcal using less than a full tank (more concentrated) - otherwise it'll take a long time to finish. The dezcal package will recommend how much warm water to use for a package.

The titanium will prompt you through the rinse cycle too - just clean out the tank after you've run all the dezcal through the system - rinse the tank really well and then fill it with clean water and let the machine do the rinse cycle - it will run the entire tank until it is empty. Then you will want to refill the tank with clean water and run a few blank shots - make sure the water from a blank shot is tasting like pure water and doesn't have a citric acid (lemon juice) taste to it - if it tastes like citric acid then you still need to rinse more. The citric acid is not harmful to you - but it will make the coffee taste a bit funny and the milk will foam up funny when you steam it.

You can go through the menu and set the machine back to factory setting by pressing the menu button and using the up or down arrows(first 2 coffee buttons) until display reads Factory Settings, then press the menu/Ok button display will read No, use up or down arrow to select Yes then press Ok.
You can also turn off the rinse cycle using the menu.

Rising cycle not stopping

Hi,

Did the machine stop after a while?
If it stops after a half cup of water then you have to replace the flowmeter.

When the rinsing cycle run you have to let it go to the water tank is empty and the machine **** air in the system, then you fill up with new water. If it not reset then i think there are something with the printed circuit card.

Let me know if you get your machine to run again.

John, The duration of the rinsing cycle is equal to the amount of water you have in the water tank. I don't believe they tell you this anywhere in the manual! I own a Titanium SS and it rinsed and rinsed and rinsed the first time I performed it! I figured out it will just keep going until the water tank sensor tells the machine it is out of water which is equal to saying to it: "Thanks for using all the water i wanted you to use to rinse, now you're finished." Hope this helps, Tony.

It takes a LONG time if you fill the tank. If you keep filling the tank, it will just KEEP going. Be patient, let the tank run out of water and this will trigger the end of teh cycle. Hope this helps, Tony.

The rinsing cycle stays on and DOES not pump water

Try first to continue filling up the water resovoir (UP TO FOUR times) to see if the machine completes the rinse cycle on its own. If that doesn't work contact Gaggia Customer Service in the US at 888-389-4123. Sally there was VERY helpful and should be able to resolve your problem.
