    no, mute is not displayed

  • adrian baer Jul 12, 2008

    How can I do that?

  • adrian baer Jul 12, 2008

Do you have access to a schematic of unit?

  • adrian baer Jul 12, 2008

Thanks, this one I have. I meant technical drawings, to find the pre-amplifier.

  • adrian baer Jul 12, 2008

I do not belive that the power amplifier has a problem. I think it is the condtioner/preamplifier.
Some more information: If I switch on the satellite receiver it is shown correct at the dispay: Digital / PCM goes correctly on. However, I have no output whether on the loudspeaker nor on the earphones.

Trace back from the OUTPUT I'cs To the Large capaciators, Thats where the filerters are, before the filter (according to the circuit) is the preamplifier, In your case its a 5 pin IC

If you check the speakers ,and its good ,then the problem is in the power amp. section, there are four transistor there maybe, two of the transistor is busted already, you can check the transistor by using a multitester, open / shorted and to the change value resistor or open and to the shorted or dry up capacitor. This must be change in order be better again ,give me the model number so i can search the schematic the diagram.

Hi,

Most unusual. If there are any forms of error or fault, the system would not even come out of standby or full power on.
1. amp, protection circuitry would be activated and you would know;
2. logic/controller, as initially sated wold not even come out of standby;
3. probably the sound processing circuitry. if will not process selected source, nothing to pass to the pre-amp/amp, hence no sound but all else would appear working.

Incidentally, I believe that there was an update on the firmware of this particular model (among others). Perhaps you may want to consider that possibility. To read more, pls see this link.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

Thank you for using FixYa.

Onkyo TX-SR705 Muting Problem

if what Dark_Orbit said does not work try doing a master reset by ressing and holding the dvr/vcr button and stand by button simultaneously. This would erase all your assignments so you would need to reassign all your sources hooked up to your onkyo.

How powerful loudspeakers can my Onkyo TX-SV444 tackle, maintaining good sound?

buy 6ohms or 8 ohms speakers. 4ohms consume too much power and sometimes causes short circuit. (safety first!)

TX-NR801 panel connection

Basic handtools should be available, as well as having soldering tools. No, I'm sorry, there are no schematics or drawings that show what and where the parts are due to the same cabinet being used for several different models and power ratings. Go ahead and spring for the tech info from the MFGR. Common sense and some mechanical aptitude would be what you need for a clean R&R.(removal and replacement)...accordianman

Onkyo tx-nr801 net tune setup help

Below is the sequence that I made it work

1. download the latest firmware for tx-nr801 and net-tune central software at Onkyo website as shown below:
http://www.intl.onkyo.com/products/net-tune/download/index.html
Click on "User Identification" at the bottom
(You'll need the serial number shown at the back of TX-NR801
to download it)

2. disable firewall in your PC or notebook and start
updating the firmware for tx-nr801
If firewall can't be disable, you probably can't go through this.
This step takes about 30 min.

(There is a document showing how to do this with the download)

3. keep disabling firewall in your PC (notebook) and install net-tune central (there is similar document describing the procedure too)

4. By pressing Net-Audio on remote controller (it can switch between mServer and iRadio fucntions if you keep pressing this button)
