Trying to install samsung digimax s500 on laptop operating windows 7. CD software is for windows 98/2000/ME/XP. Any advice?

Instead, just use the tools that are supplied with the operating system and transfer your pictures to the computer.

although if you're running windows 7, you should be able to goto the Computer icon, and it should display removable device drive (which should be your camera) And you should be able to copy the pictures from there to the hard drive

I am not sure, but you could try. Kodak Easyware software can download pictures from many digital cameras to PC. Go to Kodak.com and select 'SUPPORT'. Then click "Kodak Easyshare Software - Windows Operating System". Download and install the software in your PC. Then use it to download the pictures. It is free and easy to use.

You don't need any special software.


The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.


Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or, despite what I said first, you can use any photo cataloging program such as Windows Photo Gallery or Picasa.

The best addive is not to bother with camera supplied software.
Remove it,
Put disk back in the box
Let Windows do the work.

Make sure that you installed the driver properly.
You need to extract the files after you downloaded it from the website.
Look for setup.exe, then click on it.
Then, click Run.
After installing it, restart your computer to complete the installation process.
