Try booting from a dos boot disk or windows startup disk, this will prove that HW is OK

then if it boots OK you may have a HDD problem.

Check your system for viruses.

Download The following iso listed below. It is the latest version of the Kaspersky rescue disk. You need to burn it to a CD with a program like Imgburn (Which is also FREE like the iso file). Then you need to boot from the CD and run the scanner. It should fix you right up.

Intel L440GX sever motherboard, I just installed it and keep getting a medi failure message. I have ckecked yhe hard drives and the cables they work fine in other systems. Can you help?

The "media test failure" message usually occurs when it tries to boot from LAN instead of the hard drive. It most likely says something about an Intel/Marvell PXE Boot Agent. If it does, then you'll have to disable the LAN Boot ROM in the system setup boot configuration.

Error when system is turn on. says it can't load operating system . Biostar mother board. Model MCP6P M2+

Somehow the filesystem got corrupt. It could be the hard drive going out because this is a sign of hardware failure. Sometimes you can temporarily restore it by fixing the MBR (Master Boot Record) using your windows cd, or Linux cd if you have that, just load the disc at boot and enter the Repair section.

Hi. Well there are not any reason for this problem to appear. Done nothing regarding disk problem. Anyway when I boot the process stops with the black screen with "Verifying DMI Data...... Boot from...

Make sure you dont have a floppy in the floppy drive inserted.
Also if you have a jump drive installed, plz unplug it.

But if you little computer savy. Go to your bios and make the boot sequence to first boot the Hard Drive

You are seeing a failure to read your hard drive.
Now you need to troubleshoot that. Your hard drive could have gone bad or you can boot from a system disk (that would be a Windows system disk) and run chkdsk.

If you need help doing that, just ask. I'd be glad to help you further.

System boot problem

This is possibly a bad hard drive. If you know the manufacturer of your hard drive you can download diagnostic tools from their site, burn to cd and run diagnostics to check the drive for errors or failure.

DISK BOOT FAILURE

The sata cable\bus that connect the hard disk with the motherboard get loosen up some times. that results in the disk boot failure. if you once remove the sata cable from the harddisk and motherboard and then fix it tightly you can get the system working properly again. if the problem again persist then bye a new sata cable and fix it by replacing the older one, Thank You!
