With the machine switched off hold down the sheet or roll feed button and the information button keep these pressed and switch the machine on, keeping the puttons pressed until you see an S in the top right hand corner of the display then let go of the buttons, you should now be in service mode. if you fit print heads in this mode the machine will not automaticlly adjust the new heads. you will have to select this in the normal menu.

Errr u052 cannot print .

A lot of Canon printer's users come across with the error message, "U052 This type of print head is incorrect." It is a very common error on Canon printers and is fairly easy to troubleshoot.

There are two different scenarios related to U052 kind of error message. One is where the print head is not installed at all and then it is giving the 'U052 This type of print head is incorrect' error message.

And, the second scenario is where the print head is installed nut it is not functioning properly or probably not working at all. The below section will show step by step troubleshooting of both the scenarios.

How do i repair my canon MX456 from printing blurry/double images and text

Your printer may be printing fuzzy, blurry, or other faint text because of dirty print heads. All modern printers have a mode that can be run to check and clean the printer's print heads, as well as other internal equipment used in the printing process. If you use your printer often or have had it for more than one year, we recommend running the printer's cleaning function. Consult your printer's documentation for details on how to run the cleaning function, as it differs for each printer brand and model.

Printer has worked perfectly since purchased, suddenly started printing only the black portions of a photo. Did a nozzle check which confirmed only black cartridge functioning. Deep cleaned all heads....

The print head is still probably still partially blocked. Cleaning/deep cleaning tries to clear the head by flushing ink through, doesn't always work but does use up your ink.

You can get print head cleaning kits, PC shops, ebay etc. Try one of those.

Here's a really useful ebay url. with some youtube links, if you run the second video down you should get a pretty good idea.

Here's a direct link :- http://www.printheadhospital.co.uk/quickshop/

You don't have to buy this one, there may be cheaper, have a shop around.

Canon W7200 stays in initialising mode at startup. is memory bad?

From what I have discovered having had a total head failure, which the printer did not report, even though the prints were heavily lined, the printer appears to halt on any task until the problem is fixed

Speaking to a very helpfull service engineer, he advised that in all his years working on wide formats, Canons only have two problems, dirt or head failure. Never has he seen a card or any other electronic problem

My guess is that the head has failed, even though it doesn't report it.

Go into service mode during start-up and see if any of the self test functions work, fan tests etc. If they look like they are about too, but nothing happens, then I would look to the print head.

Canon ipf 8000 print head problems

You need to boot the printer into service mode.

Hold down the roll/source button and the info button while you are powering on the machine.

This should get you booted into the service menu where you can then access the replace printhead function

When you have successfully replaced the printhead, reboot the printer to get out of service mode,

You may also want to check the firmware version of your printer and update it.

Updates can be found on the Canon website

Ink not dry and significant smudging

there r various modes in the printer in which u have to print .and that u have to select.as you said it is printing properly on ordinary paper.the printer is perfect.the photo paper have less soaking power that ordinary paper.as the photo paper can consume ink but not so quickly as ordinary paper.
u just change that printmode and then check out how it prints.
for example the modes r ----------best mode printing.
better mode printing.
fine mode printing
normal mode printing.
draft mode printing
economy mode printing.
now i f u print in best mode it will consume lots of ink but will take lots of time to print.
if u select normal mode it will consume less ink and print quickly.

u can change the settings in printer properties.
thanks
