Hi,

do you have cats?
this may sound strange but my cat sprayed my keyboard and fried it, my cat also sprayed the front of my tower and fried the usb and power buttons. when I turned my keyboard upside down urine leaked out a little, keyboards are cheap, and now I keep a kitchen rag over it at night.

Try reinstalling the keyboard drivers, if that does not help check for viruses.

Several keys not working on a new keyboard

The only solution to this problem is go to your control panel and set the keyboard layout correctly as per your choice. just configure your keyboard and check whether the settings are working correctly. if yours is a multimedia keyboard then try to reinstall the drivers if possible.

How come my tower is making a beeping noice and the keyboard isnt working?

Well the tower is beeping because it's having an error, most likely the error is that it isn't detecting a keyboard (computers won't boot without a keyboard) make sure your keyboard is plugged all the way into the correct port and if you're still having issues, borrow someone else's keyboard and see if it works (your keyboard could be fried which means you'll need to buy a new one, or indefinitely "borrow" one from a friend).

How to re set key board with HP Pallion laptop, some of the keys are not working correct

Hello, The cause of keyboard not properly functioning is dust, if you can open your keyboard and blow out the dust using compressed air or pc vacuum blower .If this does not work then you need to change your keyboard, better still you can get an external usb keyboard and use, it will work. OR GOTO START>ACCESSORIES>EASE OF ACCESS>ON SCREEN KEYBOARD Regards

if the programmable keys are not working, then likely the correct driver is not in use.

what is the make/model ? Go to the Device Manager and see if the Keyboard is being identified correctly or if just the Generic windows KB driver is being used.

When you move and place a new keyboard same brand on your computer what is wrong with keyboard when you cant get it to come on it says keyboard error and the light doesnt come on to tell you the keyboard...

Try the new keyboard in a different computer, to see if the new keyboard is defective.

Try the old keyboard (or a different one) in your computer, to see if the keyboard-port is still functioning correctly.

Computer boots up but wireless keyboard and mouse not recognized. Hard wired wont work either. I have the Model 5187utf and the HP Pavillion m7050e computer.

Try the wireless keyboard/mouse on another computer, to verify that they are working correctly.

Try the "hard-wired" keyboard/mouse on another computer, to verify that they are working correctly.

If so, then it's your computer's motherboard that needs to be replaced (exact replacement or an upgrade).

Medion keyboard not working

If the keyboard is not working at all:
- make sure it's connected to the proper place (USB or PS/2 keyboard jack, depending on type)
- if this is a PS/2 connection, check for bent pins in the plug

If the keyboard is working but not special function keys (media control, Internet access, etc.), be sure you have installed any driver software supplied with the keyboard.

If all the connections are correct and it still doesn't work, replace it. Like any other part a keyboard can go bad, and they are inexpensive to replace.

Keyboard not working

Minimal information to go on. Since you didn't specify whether this is a laptop or desktop, I'll respond with the assumption that it's a desktop.

Power off computer.

Install new (known working) keyboard.

If that doesn't correct the problem, your issue is probably with the PS/2 or USB port your keyboard is plugged into.

If you are using a USB keyboard, first try moving it to a different USB port, then booting. If that doesn't help, try a PS/2 keyboard.

If you cannot get a known good (working/new) PS/2 keyboard to work in replacing a PS/2 keyboard, try a USB keyboard.
