It's HOT sony handycam clicking sound when plugged in
My camcorder is clicking and sounds like it is trying to rewind when I plug it into the charger. I just picked it up from Best Buy for service. The lens motor was broken and they replaced it but now this is an new problem obviously related to the service it just had.

when I plug in the RPU DC cord from my camera to the input on my tv I get nothing. Is my input jack bad or what. Also, if I tried the s video jack from the camera to the tv, would that work??? I don't know what the AV out jack is for I don't have a cord for that
It sounds like there's a problem with the tape loading mechanism. The first thing you should try is seeing if the camcorder will allow you to run a head cleaner through it (probably not the problem, but something everyone should do regularly, but most people don't).
If that's not the issue, then it's probably something that you can't fix yourself. You should have information in the box that tells you where to send it to for repair.
This camera has had problems with the primary switch block faulting. The camera will power up all by itself when unattended and drain the battery. Another symptom would be the battery refuses to charge fully because the camera must remain in the "OFF" mode for the charge process to begin.
Sony in Laredo, TX is replacing these controls at little or no cost, I would call them to see if they will repair this for you.
Hope this helps you.
