Question about Goodman Air Conditioners

1 Answer

My Goodman GMP100-4 blower fan runs slower than the second unit. The blower did not start when I turned the A/C or furnace on. However, if gave it a push (spin) from the side, it started turning, but at a slower speed. hardly any air blows from vent. Will capacitor replacement solve the problem? Is slow speed also due to capacitor?

Turn the thermostats fan position to Auto instead of ON. If it already is in Auto, then there is a fan relay stuck in the board.

Furnace running all the time.

Pull the thermostat off the wall. If the fan keeps running, it is a relay in the board or just an independent fan relay.

I have an goodman model # gsc130241ae ac unit outside it will not come on, no hum, fan doesn't run thermostat control is good swaped out with downstairs unit. Gas heat unit is in the attic, I don't use...

Does the blower indoors run and move air? if not it would mean that you don't have power to the furnace.
The 24 volt transformer in the furnace is used to power the thermostat and the control circuit on the A/C unit outdoors. Or you could have blown a fuse on the computer board in the furnace.
If this has helped please rate me, and If you need more help, give me some more info.
Thanks,

Inside blower not starting every time

You have a voltage bleed somewhere or a short, whatever you want to call it. Do you have a control board on this unit where the relays are integrated into it or do you have the old type where the relay is separate? Anyway, you need to take a meter and take voltage readings to the motor when it's acting up and when it's running right. I have had the same problem with a Goodman unit before and it turned out to be the tstat! What I would do is remove the cover off the tstat and take a small jumper wire and touch the r terminal to the y terminal. If the motor starts right up, you know it's the tstat. If you have the same problem, then the only thing it can be is a low voltage short to the unit from the tstat, bad control board if you have one, or a bad relay. But if the unit is working fine in heat, it's probably not the relay. I hope this helps.

Goodman a/c blower fan will not shut off

Unhook the thermostat wires on the furnace. If the blower shuts off then your problem is either the thermostat or the thermostat wires. If it contiues to run check you high limit switches next. If all else fails you most likely have a bad blower relay. On most modern furnaces the blower relay is part of the circuit board.
Good luck

Connecting electronic air filter to furnace fan

You may need a "current sensing relay" to clip around the neutral wire on your blower.
Run the 120v power to the main power (the power switch- hot, neutral and ground) . Run the Hot wire through the "Current Sesing Relay" wires to the EAC unit's 120v. power input. The unit will only run when the fan is on.

Hope this helps,
Matt
