Just finishing talking to someone at Office Max. All ink jet cartridges from Canon come with a chip. so if you are using a re-manufactured cartridge (Office Max)it will not recognize the cartridge. you would have to deal with it. Reset button on my Canon did not help at all it still flashes :color ink low:

Press reset/stop button for 5 seconds. it will still say unknown but it will print fine

How to Repair Canon Printer

Canon printers are available in various models, such as laser, inkjet, photo and all-in-one model which can copy, scan, print and faxtogether. Though, Canon is one of the most trusted brands when it comesto printers, but like all other technical products, its printers canalso ditch you when you are in the most urgent need.

Printer is a good companion if it works nicely, but a worse foe when itstops giving the desired results. Here are some of the tips that youcan follow to fix your Canon printer and get the best out of it.

General Issues

Paper jam: It’s a frequent mishap when more than one sheet ofpaper stuck together in the feeding mechanism. You can manually liftthe cover and remove it.

Ink level: Your cartridge has no ink and you may be getting no print except a blank paper.

Clogged cartridges: This is the most common fault, when yourcartridge head is clogged with dry ink. You can repair it with simplecommand as: Control Panel> Printer>Right Click>Properties>Maintenance> Clean Cartridges.

Driver failure: Software bugs, errors or conflicts may arise onaccount of corrupted printer’s software and hardware. You need toreinstall printer drivers and software. Try to get best compatibledriver for installation.

Alternatively, you can update your printer driver as: "Control Panel> Printers > Right Click > Properties > Update Driver".

Canon-Specific Issues

Waste Ink Error: Here you need to take some setting steps. Pressmenu option of your printer followed by scan/copy to access Servicemore option. Now, press the right arrow to explore "NVRAM". Set ABS-Mlevel to 0. Set ABS-P level to 0. Press "Stop" to exit.

Invalid Cartridge Message: Turn off your printer besidesunplugging the power cable. Recover the cartridges and the print headand dip them in lukewarm water to remove clotted ink. Allow them to dryand wipe with a tissue. Now, reset them in your printer and run thecartridge alignment.

E0D02 error: Ensure your cartridge as well as the attachedsender strip is free from moisture and dust. The sender strip islocated behind the rubber drive belt and runs horizontally across themachine. Make a regular practice to wipe it with a soft cloth.

Learn some printer etiquette's to avoid above issues:

Keep patience: Don’t give print commands for multiple jobs at asingle time, as the printer take the time as per the size of the printjob requested earlier.

Use desired paper: Abstain from printing on card stock, photo paper, etc; use only laser jet paper.

Restrict print jobs beyond 50 pages: Don’t over burden yourprinter. It is advised to print not more than 50 pages in one singlego. Avoid too much color ink: Black and white laser printers are thebest as they need the least maintenance.

I keep getting a Clear Carrier jam on my Dell V305w printer. I've checked the cartridges, turned off/on, unplugged, nothing's jammed and keep getting the same error.

Remove obstructions from the carrier path or close the cartridge carrier lids, and then press the Select button. You can try resetting the printer by unplugging it from the wall. Now remove the power brick for 60 seconds. This will reset any error messages the printer is getting.
There is almost always something in the paper path. (makeup brushes, push pins, paper clips, insect parts, jigsaw puzzle pieces, coins, toys etc. If all else fails, turn it upside down and shake.
or try to run a piece of thin 3X12 flexible plastic up and down along the paper path.
(It has to be stiff enough so it doesn't kink up and strong enough to shove out any blockage). In the absence of plastic, you can use some stiff cardboard or cut a piece of file folder to fit.

Printed 47 pages, paper for page 48 started to feed incorrectly & was yanked out. However, LCD keeps saying paper jam even though entire paper was retrieved. Turning machine off, on, examined for any...

More likely especially if the paper was pulled out backwards, that the paper sensor just before the platen roller is bent or broken. When you pull paper back up thru the feeder it gets caught on this sensor tab and it gets bent, holding it up just like a paper scrap would. If it's broken or you can't locate it to bend it straight, you will need a shop to repair your printer.

Print error code 50 on a brother dcp-330c

Error code #50 refers to a paper jam. Although you may not see any paper in the feed channel/chute, there is either a small fragment of paper or dust interfering with your machine's ability to feed. A good way to ensure there's no blockage is to blow it out with compressed air including the rear panel where dust/dirt tends to hide. Short of that, you can try to reset the error code by disconnecting all cords (including power cord) for 10 minutes or so and upon reconnecting, the fault should clear but keep in mind, if there is an obstruction, the error will return. Hope this clarifies you error message. Best of luck!

Error message that blinks E 1 6. Help!

This error indicates replacement of ink cartridge. You can try to reset the printer by turning power off and then switch it on after 20 seconds. If this works, great, else you will have to get new ink cartridge.

Unable to print code 50

what error code do you receive? Is it 30 only or does it toggle between 30 and 50 (watch some more 5 minutes!).

Anyway, two solution for this named errors:
1. Only error 30:
There IS some paper piece left inside the printer. Mostly could this be found on the very very left side (seeing from front as in normal use). Open scanner and have a good look into the edges. You will find a small piece of paper left there.

2. 30 and 50 (toggling)

Toner not set insert toner message

The problem is with the paper tray not the toner, believe it or not. Take all of the paper out of the tray and then reinsert the paper into the tray. It should then work fine.
