Hello Don,
I wolud recommend you to deal this with a MiniDisc specialist i know. He deals with MDs and has loads of experience helping people on net. His contact details are as follows
David Popovits
Sigma D.O. Electronics
3, Sheinkin str. Tel Aviv, Israel
Tel. 972-3-6290339
Fax. 972-3-6203579
(sigma@netvision.net.il)

As for your E2 at the high track portion of the MD. This is due to very low revolutions of the motor as the laser unit goes to the high part of the disc. If there is an obstacle or even small dirt on the motor it will not revolve, the same can happen if the laser is not "strong" enough or if the recording is made on a cheap or bad disc. The problem is that even if the disc is good and the machine is clean it still can happen and there is not much to do about it. This is the price we pay for those small machines attempting to save power and in the sane time causing us lot of headache.

Thanks for using fixya.. Please rate this solution.. Thank You..

All I can suggest from looking at the 42 page service manual, which you can see for free online. Is to try out the test mode on it, see what it comes up with!

Pioneer troubleshooting

Looks like a problem with the indication panel which is a fixed 'all-in-one' unit and probably needs a bit of soldering to rectify a few dry joints! More likely your very friendly repair man down the street will tell you he'll send off for a new unIt which he can replace for you at a 'smaLL' FEE!

Hello - Our Pioneer vsx-305 display screen doesn't light up anymore and we are unable to get it to work even though the on/off button appears to operating correctly (red standby light comes on). T

It is likely failing due to age.Cold solders fail, corrosion can cut a connection, a capacitor can harden and fail... a myriad of things can happen in time. Repairing it will cost more than an inexpensive replacement. The same receiver can be had on ebay from $60 up (with shipping). It is a cost benefit issue at this point.

Pioneer deq-7600 lcd very dim, lcd problem?

The LCD display is failing, or the driver ic is the issue, or the B+ is to low causing the dimming effect, a resistor gone high in value would explain this.

My pioneer vsx 815 amplifier has a flashing blue standby light. Have tried resetting by pressing enter and advanced surround keys. All it does is flash a few other LEDs and then goes back to the flashing...

"enter and advanced surround keys"? I don't see that documented as a special function in the manual.

BTW: other than the Flashing light, is there a malfunction?

Page 72 describes how it REALLY resets...

Resetting the main unit

Use this procedure to reset all the receiver's settings to the factory default. Use the front

panel controls to do this.

1 Switch the receiver into standby.

2 While holding down the TONE button, press and hold the STANDBY/ON button for about three seconds.

3 When you see RESET? appear in the display, press ENTER .

OK? shows in the display.

4 Press SYSTEM SETUP to confirm.

OK appears in the display to indicate that the receiver has been reset to the factory default
settings.

Pioneer Elite vsx-27tx receiver with no bass!?

There may be a subwoofer mute function on your amp. The sub out is nothing more than a preamp output with a low frequency response. It is meant to be amplified by an external amp. Either check your powered subwoofer for operation or look through your operators manual for a sub mute function.

Won't power up; push power button on, hear click in back left of unti, get nothing on front display and no output from speakers; as if unit trying to operate

Disconnect the speakers and see what happens. Carefully examine the speaker cables for unwanted connections (shorts).
Take a clue from when the power problem appeared. Something was moved and made the buzz a (probable) dead short.

I own an Pioneer CD tuner XC-L11 with a stereo power amplifier M-L11. Recently it won't switch on with the standby button flashing red. Nothing happens after that and the system doesn't work. Could you...

On the first board (where the power enters) there is a tall 3 pronged switch, if you turn the board over and solder a piece of wire to the 2 outside prongs, you will find that the Amp works normally apart from that the display reads Cd closed when in Cd mode.
