Problem for Compaq Presario PC Notebook

Compaq Presario V6425TU Notebook PC driver for windows XP SP3

i have installed audio driver for above PC, and it was installed successfully, but the sound section in control panel still showing no proper device installed, though device manager showing it.

Any solution?

When you get in 2 changing or even accidently getin rid of your audio drivers,,it can be a real pain,, did u make sure its 4 your correct operating system,,vista drivers wont work 4 xp drivers and vise versa,,you can try device manager,, rgt click ,,open it up under propertyes and load it manually,, thats what i had 2 do ,,on a hp deasktop pc,,thanks and goodluck

Hi shuja52,
Without knowing your operating system is, generally this laptop ships with Vista Home basic of which you really should have sound. However if you have opted to install XP Pro, did you install the Microsoft UAA before you installed the sound drivers. If this is true then you will need to go to your device manager/sound video and game controllers/legacy audio drivers right click and scan for changes. OR look in the sound video and game controllers and right click and scan for changes on the device showing a yellow exclamation mark next to it.

This morning I installed contextant high definition audio HD automatically through Windows Update, and now I have no sound..
I've been tying to fix this all day, I've uninstalled it, rollover to the one I had before, nothing. Installed it again, disabled all sound controllers, restarted and enabled them and still nothing.
I cant hear anything, except for very low hissing, but once my computer beeped so I know the speakers are still attached.. It says they are there and working, although somewhere it said they were not present.. Confusing.
P.s Its a toshiba p105 and run on Vista always have.
Can you help me?
