Question about Xerox Office Equipment & Supplies

The printer is indicating that the finisher tray is full and to remove all paper. But there is no paper on the finisher tray.This is causing the printer not to print.

I wish you told the model number. But when that happens, what has happened is this.
In the finisher tray there would be a flag type actuator that sticks out into the paper path after the paper enters the tray. It has fallen off or has become stuck deactuating the sensor, ( turning it off).
Although there is no paper in the finisher tray, with that sensor flag out of position and the sensor off,it thinks there is paper there.

    I am getting the same error message on a BizHub C224e yet there is no paper in there. I didn't see any flag type actuators. Any advice on this model would be great!

if you remove the paper tray and you look in the slot that the paper tray slides in you should see a sensor flag hanging down remove the flag, it seems that the sensor is faulty the machine should work but wont let you know when the paper is finished so the very last page will show paper jam

Reading no paper paper tray is full


Instructions
  1. Check the display for an error message. If the display reads "Clearing paper from printer," the engine has detected a jam and is attempting to eject the jammed pages automatically. These pages will often be blank.
  2. Check the display for "Performing PRINT/STOP TEST" or "Performing SERVICE TEST." Either of these messages indicates that the printer is going through a test procedure that may eject blank pages.
  3. Reduce the amount of paper in the input tray if the printer is feeding multiple blank sheets at a time. The printer will pull extra pages through if the input tray is overfilled.
  4. Replace the paper in the input tray with the correct size if needed. If the 4600 printer detects the paper as an incorrect size for the print job, it may eject the paper without printing anything on it.
  5. Replace the ink cartridges if certain colors are blank on the page. Replace the black cartridge if printing a black text document that is coming out blank. The printer may attempt to print even if the ink level is low or empty, but will unable to print anything on the page, causing it to come out blank.
  6. Remove the sealing tape from newly installed cartridges. The tape covers the print heads and should be removed before installing the cartridges. If the tape is left on, it will prevent ink from getting on the pages as they print.
  7. Press the "Check mark" button on the control panel to enter the printer menu. Run a diagnostic so the printer can attempt to determine the cause of the blank pages printing. Press the up or down arrow to select "Diagnostics." Press the "Check mark" button. Press the "Down" arrow to highlight "PQ Troubleshooting." Press the "Check mark" button. The printer runs a diagnostic and returns to a ready state when done.

Problems with bypass tray taking too many peice of paper then jamming


The tray is overfilled > Remove excess media from the tray.

The paper exceeds the maximum stack-height indicator mark in the tray (trays 2 or 3) > Open the tray and verify that the media stack is below the maximum stack-height mark.

The paper is sticking together > Remove the media, flex it, rotate it 180 degrees, or flip it over, and then reload it into the tray.
NOTE: Do not fan paper. Fanning can create static
electricity, which can cause paper to stick together.

When you removed the paper jam, was the paper torn? If so, did you ensure that you found all the pieces. (Put the piece of paper back together like a puzzle to verify). There could be a piece of paper stuck in the printer that is causing the paper sensor to fail.
The other possibility is that when you removed the paper jam, something became dislodged in the printer. Forcefully removing paper from the printer can cause this.

Cannon 3235i indicates that there is paper to be removed from the output tray but none present


i am assuming you have a finisher on the copier if its the small internal finisher were the paper lands has a small lever that moves up and down when the paper hits it if that lever is stuck down you will get this message

When removing the tray - turn off printer -
insert try with paper - turn on printer -
you should notice the blue paper meter moving. fixed

1-Is the paper set correctly in the tray? if you have Letter paper in it make sure the guides are snug against it

2-Check the lever inside the tray, remove the tray and look at the tires there should be a lever that you ca move freely that is the paper sensor

I'm guessing it just means the finisher thinks it's full, and wants you to take the copies / prints out.
