My wii doesnt read the disk

This can be caused by a dirty laser in the drive. Try cleaning the laser with a q-tip and alcohol. If this does not fix the problem, the laser may need to be replaced. Contact Nintendo and see if the unit is still under warranty.

If the unit is not under warranty go to www.wiredextreme.com. We are a BBB accredited console repair company, and we can clean/replace the laser for you. All of our repairs come with a 90 day warranty. We also offer extended warranties up to 4 years at additional cost. This could be caused by a bad laser. You can try cleaning it with a q-tip and alcohol. If this doesn't work then it needs to be replaced. If it is under warranty then send it in to Sony. My playstaion 3 wont play any games or dvds or cds. ive tried restarting the system but that doesnt work. ive tried a disk cleaner and that doesnt work. everything on my ps3 works apart from it wlont play...

Hi

As you have already tried a disk cleaner and the problem is persisting the diagnoses here is failure of the blueray drive.

This is a very common problem with these units and the unit will have to go back to Sony for service.

If you are confident with electronics there are several videos on YouTube showing how to replace the drive if you choose to order it and do it yourself. If you decide to try this - please ensure the unit is completely disconnected from its power supply when working on it.
See example;

Otherwise I believe Sony are doing these drives on an exchange basis for around $150 if your unit is out of warranty. You can contact Sony customer support at this link if you need to do this.

PS3 will not power on

that could be any number of issues... if it is new or less than a year old, take it in on warranty... if not, thing become a lot mot complicated... you try replacing the cord, and if that doesnt work, replace the power mechanism, and if that doesnt work, replace the hard drive, and if that doesnt work, the mother board... sorry to be the bearer of bad news as well, but i just made it sound easy...

  • Hey there, Sounds like the DVD-rom might be shot. If your system is under warranty please contact microsoft and get the system repaired. If you no long have the 3 year warranty you can replace the dvd rom quite easily if you have the right tools to open the case. (Before servicing your console check and be sure you have no warrenty) IF this is something you would like to try let me know And i will give you the part numbers you need. good luck and happy gaming!

It doesnt even read that i put in a game

How long have you owned your system? You may be able to contact xbox for a repair under the warranty. If your warranty is expired and you're feeling adventurous, you can try to take apart the system and clean the lens of the disk drive with a cotton swab(Q-tip) very carefully, do not use much pressure, it will scratch. If this doesn't work, I suggest contacting xbox and having them fix it for you, if you don't have a warranty anymore, you may have to pay for the repair. www.xbox.com

I hope I was able to help you solve your problem and please rate! Thank you!

My xbox360

There are two possiblities one is that your hard drive on your system has corrupt data on it. try taking off your hard drive and playing Forza 2 if it works fine then delete all the information on your hard drive. If that doesnt work then refer down.

The second possibilty is an issue that leads to the red ring of death. There is general hardware failure going on. If you have a warranty with the store you bought it from i would suggest using it. if not you can call MS and see if your system is still under warranty.

There are a few fix it yourself manuals out there but if you dont know much about electronics i would let the pros handle it.
