do the self check to see which of the 5 error codes you may have, it is done with the front keyboard: press after shutdown input and menu for five seconds or more and release both, count the blinks on the power light, 1 then two, pause is no error.
A discolored Blob, loss of one color or blotchy pattern usually in the center of the screen. The problem is becoming all too common with Hitachi projection sets. What happens is that one of the lenses in the optical block (or light engine) starts to burn or discolor due to overheating because of a blocked air filter causing poor air (cooling) circulation. Nothing can be done when the damage is too far-gone except to replace the light engine-at a cost that makes it not worth repair. if the damage is minimal than to reduce further damage, the air filter should be replaced. The Light engine needs to be removed in order to replace the air filter. Be sure to vote/rate me if this helped Thanks! You can do it 1 of 2 ways, you could try moveing the picture tubes just use a small screwdriver and just give them a small turn, look at your picture you will then know if you went the right way. Or if you have it on your model you can sometimes self allin with the settings menu in your menu there maybe a screen allinment setting It allows the common user to reallin the screen them selves you use the buttons on the tv to line 3 x's up on the screen some models were bought out with this but not all.
i just got a brand new xenius flat tv on pay as you view 1 week old and watching it and it just switched it self off the power light is there but wen i switch it on the power button only flashes no picture then switches it self str8 to stand by again well not happy any 1 no wats wrong be sides its fooked lol
well . there are 4 things that can cause this..
1= the outer screens could be dirty.clean with screen protector cleaner.Spray on cloth and not on outer screens.
2= outside lenses of picture tubes could be dirty.Unit can be opened .Outside lenses can be cleaned with a lens cloth .Do not use paper towels or cotton as this my scratch surfaces of lenses.
3= inside of picture tubes could be dirty. This should be done by a repair shop only(dirty coolant inside tubes)
This model is equipped with a self-diagnosis feature to help with diagnosis of shutdown problems. To activate this turn the unit on let it shutdown then press the input/device and menu buttons on the front panel simultaneously and hold them in for 5 seconds after 5 seconds the power LED on the front panel will blink a two digit sequence. This will be one set of blinks a short pause then another set of blinks, this will repeat 5 times. 1 - 2 = no error detected 2 - 1 = X-ray protect (high voltage or beam current) 2 - 2 = Short protect (short protect monitors low voltage supplies) 2 - 3 = Deflection protect (this could be loss of vertical or horizontal deflection) 2 - 4 = Vertical protect (usually loss of vertical from the source) 1. MAY BE INTERMITTENT, SELF-DIAGNOSIS ERROR 23 OR 24. CHECK SOLDER CONNECTIONS AT CONNECTOR "DY" ON THE YOKES. 2. SHUTDOWN AT POWER WITH SELF-DIAGNOSIS ERROR 23 OR 24. CHECK C411 2200 UFD 35 V AND C412 10 UFD 50 V, BOTH LOCATED ON THE MAIN PCB.
