Ford crown victoria 99 won't go forward goes in reverse

You have a 4r70w transmission and more than likely a forward drum failure has occurred, seeing as reverse still works fine and no forward engagement. This is not an electrical problem, it is a hard part failure and the transmission will need to be disassembled to repair it. Forward drum failures are one of the more common failures in these transmissions. 4r70w no forward gears only reverse help needed Ford Truck Enthusiasts...

Will not go in reverse, could it be transmission or transfer case?

gm transmission have known for transmission reverse drum failure or a sensor called tcc solenoid. For the reverse drum you have to remove the gearbox and it's an esxpensive fix and for the solenoid you just have to remove the tansmission pan and there are gonna be all the solenoids, look for the tcc solenoid and change it. The sensonr cost around $50. Hope this helps

I have a 97 GMC Sierra 4x4 1500 automatic transmission and it won't shift into reverse it does fine in all other gears. My dad said he looked at it and one of the bands is stretched out, but i asked the...

There is no band for reverse in this transmission and there is no shift solenoid function in reverse. There are a couple things that can cause a no reverse problem.#1 problem with the reverse input clutches such as burned or damaged clutches and/or leaking drum.#2The other most common problem is a stripped reaction shell although you usually loose 2nd and 4th gear when that happens. If you have good neutral, all 4 forward gears and the transmission is full of fluid then I would say that the bearing between the input drum and reverse input drum has failed and there are pieces of bearing stuck in the reverse drum and keeping the clutches from applying. No simple fix here and dont waste your money on fluid and filter or a shift solenoid.Time for an overhaul.Let me know if I can help.

The reverse gears are not working.if you put the reverse gears it will accelerate infront instead.what do i do?

It sounds like the reverse band broke. Typically with automatic transmission when you put the transmission in reverse a couple things happen. Usually, the forward clutch engages and the reverse band engages holding the reverse drum from turning, which causes the planetery gears to make the vehicle move backwards. If the band breaks there is nothing told hold that drum from turning and you have a forward gear. The bad news is the trany is going to have to come out to be repaired and usually the reverse drum is one of the first things to go into the trany, so it has to be completely disassembled. Take it to a transmission shop have them check it, hopefully it's something simpler.

How do auto reverse brakes on a trailer work?

Forward Braking
The actuating force for the wheel brake is generated during braking of the towing vehicle, as the trailer tends to overrun and
pushes the drawtube in. This force is transmitted to the expander devices in the wheel brakes via the overrun lever, brake rod,
compensator and brake cables.
As a result, the brake shoes are pressed against the brake drum. The resulting friction from contact of brake linings and drum
produces the required braking.
On releasing the brake on the towing vehicle, the drawtube returns to its original position and the brake shoes are released from
the drums by means of the tension springs.
Auto-Reverse
During reversing the drawtube is pushed in and the brake shoes press against the drum (as in forward braking).
When the trailer wheels are in reverse, the reverse rotation, combined with the friction generated from drum and lining contact,
causes the sliding shoe to slide on its carrier towards the adjuster.
This displaces the sliding shoe radially inwards away from the drum. The drawtube may then travel fully to its end stop without
applying further force to the brake shoes and the trailer can be reversed without any difficulties.
Changing direction from reverse to forward travel results in the drawtube being pulled out, allowing the sliding shoes to be
returned to the forward braking position by means of the tension springs.
From this guide which contains more information also.

My tumble dryer has reverse drum, when it goes one way it sqeaks like mad when reversed its quiet?

Your problem sounds like the drum rollers is in need of lubrication.
If you have a front loading machine, Unplug the dryer, remove the front of the dryer. This will expose the drum and belt, remove the drum and belt and this will expose the drum rollers.
Check your rollers for flat spots, if they have flat spots on them replace them.
If they don't then they probably only need lubrication. Lubricate the shaft of the rollers with a good grade of machine oil such as 3 in One oil. Reassemble the dryer, plug back in. This should solve your noise problem.
I will include these two websites for parts and further help:

Both also have chat assistance 24/7.
Good Luck,
I hope this helps

Dryer Motor won't always start Model FSE747GES

Too much drag on the Drum. Try lubricating the rollers that the drum turns on. Check the belt tensioner pully...lubricate that as necessary. If Drum still turns very hard after this then take belt off of motor and try turning drum. If drum turns easily then replace motor.
