LG Dishwasher LE error

There are two gray wires and if you have been getting the "LE" error code, one of those wires is most likely broken or pinched. Splice, reconnect, solder or tape and you're back in buisiness!

THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!
Last thing I checked, saved me a bunch of $$$$$$.
Broken grey wire was 1/4 way up the door jammed into the black rubber paint..

not positive of model number, but LG dishwasher is just over 1 year old. Started with LE message today. Unplugging for 2 hours has not helped. Searching for more answers.

When you repair the wires, be sure to wrap the wire harness is plastic like the type you would find in Safeway produce section.  This will keep the wire harness from getting melted on to the black insulation and creating this problem again.

First , there is a three wire plug ( blue, sky blue and white) on a controller board. Your ohm meter should read 16.2 ohms between any of those wires. In my case all wires were OK.( Ohm meter checked OK ) , it was a stuck rotor which cased a problem

Why is my dishwasher flashing LE

This is very common problem with LG dishwashers. The LE error code (locked engine) is not allways indicative of a motor problem.

Simply unscrew the front door panel from the retaining screws on the inside of the perimiter of the door. Once the screws are removed pull down and out to remove the door panel. Remove the sound insulating material and you will see several wires routed from the contol panel the length of the door to underneath the unit. Inspect the wires thouroghly. Near the bottom is where the pinching can take place. There are two gray wires and if you have been getting the "LE" error code, one of those wires is most likely broken or pinched. Splice, reconnect, solder or tape and you're back in buisiness!

My dishwasher is showing LE on the display and will run but doesn't seem to be cleaning the dishes. Any solutions?

Hi there,

Well LE means locked motor, this seems to be a very common problem withe these dishwashers.

Possible Cause For Error Occurrence:
Wiring connection is OK?
The Impeller of Washing Pump is locked.
The rotor of Washing Motor is locked.
The Blade is locked.

Anyway the LE error code is not all-ways indicative of a motor problem. There are also strong chances of any lose connection (wire), so first you can simply unscrew the front door panel from the retaining screws on the inside of the perimeter of the door. Once the screws are removed pull down and out to remove the door panel. Remove the sound insulating material and you will see several wires routed from the contol panel the length of the door to underneath the unit. Inspect the wires thoroughly. Near the bottom is where the pinching can take place. There are two gray wires and if you have been getting the "LE" error code, one of those wires is most likely broken or pinched. Splice, reconnect, solder or tape.......

I am receiving an error code of "LE" on my LG front-load dishwasher...What is it?

just solved a LE error code on my dishwasher,,,,it was a broken wire caused from the black sound deadening material LG uses...apparently when the dishwasher heats up the black stuff becomes soft...wires become imbedded then when it cools and you open the door it breaks wires...easy solution...soldered wire, put a thin piece of plastic to where the wires couldnt get imbedded , put back together and works great

Model No- LD-12AW2 LE Error showing what does this mean

LE error code means that there is a problem with the motor.  One thing to check is to remove the front door panel and check the wiring harness to see if there are any broken wires.  If there is, repair the wire connections and see if the dishwasher returns to normal.  If not, then the motor assembly will need to be replaced.

LG LDF6810 stops with LE error code

This seems to be a very common problem withe these dishwashers. The LE error code (locked engine) is not allways indicative of a motor problem. I had the same issue with my diswasher (3 months out of warranty). I found out that one of the gray wires which runs the length of the door panel was pinched and broken simply from the repetative motoin of opening and closing the door over time (very poor design). Good news is that it was an easy fix.
