I too would like the steps for cleaning the light engine I have mine out and am a bit over whelmed. My TV made a very loud worring noise then stopped working as it was giving a negative effect on dark parts of movies and the noise has been there since I got mine earlier this year I decided to pull it apart and try to fix it but now I have the light engine out and am a little lost on getting apart.

Coloyr wheel comes as part of the light engine, I have sent you details on how to dismantle and clean. Usually does the trick. It's a 10 meg file so hopefully it will get to you.

Hi it sounds like the problem is with the convergenge ics these can be replaced but the problem usually comes from a bad resistor this causing the ic to go.
The only problem is without having the proper testing equipment in front of you you could keep guessing and never find the problem the best thing to do is if you dont have the equipment nor the knowledge of diagnosing the problem it is best left to somebody who know what they are looking for.
I see this problem often on these sites and it all comes down to the convergence ic failing they usuall fail to a resistor failing on the main board the board will need testing and tracing back from the ics to eliminate any resistors that could have failed.
I have seen alot of people that have replaced the ics without checking the resistors and then they have the same problem shortly after.
The resistors tend to start failing shortly after the warranty has run out.
The cheapest sollution would be for you to take the tell yourself to repair shop as calling somebody out might charge for the call out and for transporting the tell.
Their isnt much you can do yourself but if you need it i can get the spec sheet for you so you can follow circuit diagrammes let me know what you want to do
No it is not true that color wheels for this model aren't sold as stand alone you can find one on E-bay.The color wheel is approx $259.59 US.sorry don't know of a cheap place to install.Hope this helps you and have a nice day.
You have Color Wheel Failure. Light engine must be removed to access and replace the color wheel. This page shows Samsung Color Wheel part number for different TV Models. This page shows Color Wheel Replacement service cost in Canada.
U have some technical skills and machanicals skills?If you don't,u better just hire a tv Tech. to do the job or will end up costing u more money,because the tv Tech. don't like to be hire to fix people mistakes and blunders.Go to You Tube video type in Samsung colors wheel replacement.U will have a tutoring video by some one taking out the colors wheel and replacing it.
Sorry, the color wheel is only available in the Light Engine Assembly. You can not purchase it as a single part. You will have to purchase the engine and replace it to repair your TV. PN: 23405476 it runs about $450 with a $200 core. You may find it cheaper... I don't think it is readily available... Best of luck to you, I hope this was helpful.
Bearings in color wheel going bad and needs to be replaced. Call a local tv repair shop on pricing and availability of color wheel for your model and chassis number.
Yes you can repair this your self it is the color wheel also keep in mind that if set does not play after replacing color wheel and lamp lights,color wheel working with all 3 fans running and set shuts off within 30secs of turn on BAD LIGHT ENGINE!!!!!!!! also they are NO LONGER Available cost of that part was 1,000.00
