Hello.
I recommend you to buy the best you can afford, to be sure about compatibility you should look in your Motherboard manual
and look for what kind of graphics ports does it have and all the information related.
- PCI Express x16 ?
- PCI Express x1 ?
- AGP ?
- PCI ?
From top to bottom the performance decreases.
Also make sure your power supply can deliver the power the graphics card is going to need, you can see the power comsuption of the card in the manufacturer specification.
If you don't have the motherboard manual you can visit the manufacturer website and look for it.
About graphics cards manufacturers:
- Nvidea
- ATI
I have more experience with Nvidea, Geforce series are exellent.
I am afraid Dimension 3000 has no support for PCI-e or AGP Video cards. You can however install a PCI Video card in one of the three PCI slots. Just ensure that the PCI Video Card you get is universal (i.e. supports both 3.3 and 5 volts).
When you have your new PCI Video card, check herefor guide to install the hardware.

I bought the hp slimline s3707c a few months ago and I love it! But due to me being a huge gamer I needed to upgrade my Vid Card. The new card doesn't fit in the tower so I bought a bigger tower and was planning on just moving everything over to the new one but I'm having trouble disconnecting and disassembling everything because of how compact the tower is. Any suggestions on how to transfer the insides to a new tower without destroying them?
