I have tried every configuration of the wiring I can think of. I have 2 jacks and a Ring Selector for the fax machine.

What is the make or brand/model of the phone you are referring to? Does it has a line 1/2 selector or a ringer selector on the panel?
Maybe the phone you have has a selector on its side.
I need more info.
Best regards.

I have a land line phone number 905-792-XXXX. I wish a cell phone number 416-792-XXXX. The 416 number is owned by Rogers(land line) and is available. Can the 416 number be mada a cell number

Unfortunately, land lines, which are supposed to be portable are not. So you would not be able to get the land line converted to a cell phone number. That is a problem and has been for over 15 years. You could try to petition Rogers for the number, but chance are they are not going to provide any assistance in this matter. You could contact the Public Utilities Commission and seek assistance, but you will run into a brick wall. Sorry for the bad news.

Only one ring with incoming calls from my Vtech and line is noisy. How do I solve this

Sounds more like a phone line problem than trouble with your phone. I suspect you have water in the line or some other problem that is causing trouble when the high ring voltage appears. Try disconnecting all phones and connect a plain old basic phone to one of your jacks. Better yet, if your house has a network interface jack on the outside, connect the phone there. Call your number and see if you still have the same trouble on the line. If so, call your phone company as the problem is in their wiring. If not, reconnect each phone in your house to see when the problem returns. Then you'll know which one is responsible.

I have a gigaset 8825. I have a "distinctive ring" problem

Hello,

I have the same phone system, and *think* you may be able to fix the problem by adjusting the amount of rings before answer on each unit. This assumes there is an auto answer system engaged. Hope that helps some.

Panasonic phone

This system will have to be programmed to allow line 1 to ring on that particular set. When you pick up line 1 now and it dials out it is dialing the last number you called from the phone.

Make sure that you have allow analog trunk to trunk connect enabled in lines, analog options.

We have an older AT&T spirit phone system, sometimes line 1 will not work, I disconnect line 1 from the phone system box and plug back in, I then get a dial tone but the line will not disconnect, this...

There is most likely a problem with your control unit and the CO line 1 will not disconnect. However, to absolutely eliminate all other possibilities, try swapping phone lines 1 & 2 and see if the problem stays at line 1 (which will now be a different phone number) or if the problem moves to line 2 which would indicate a problem with the wiring to the control unit.

Hopefully you do not use all the phone lines in your system and you can move them all down one slot. (line 1 becomes line 2, line 2 becomes line 3 etc...) and just stop using line 1. Otherwise you will need to find a replacement control unit.

Line problems

I disconnected phone cord from base unit and then reconnected the phone cord after a few minutes and then it worked. I have no clue why that solved my problem.
