Check the lid reed switch. turn power off. take the two back screws out and remove top control panel. Put a ohms meter across the two reed switch wires (these run out to the front of the machine, then open close lid to look for an open close indication.

Your lid magnetic reed switch could be faulty.

Smart drive 085

the buzzing noise is the pump trying to work, but it cannot due to a blockage. unplug the washer and you can lean the washer backwards and remove the pump to unblock. the fill error is probably unrelated, and is an inlet valve issue.

Fisher and Paaykel Smart Drive 708 not working once filled with water.

You need to check your lid switch & out of balance switch for
corrosion and replace if faulty.
Your out of balance switch is under the big yellow motor controller
OOB switch Is where the grey plate is on this picture.

Our old smart drive 085, washes but doesn't go on to empty, rinse & spin???

I think you will find the pump is blocked or seized up.
You can quite easily take the pump out from underneath.you don't need any tools for this.it simply twists out a quarter of a turn anti clockwise, there is a tinny white plastic locking tab that you need to release before it will twist out.get as much water out of the machine first because when you take the pump out it will gush everywhere.you dont want water geting into the big round plastic motor underneath.let me know how you get on.

When filling my F&Paykel washer the water is not a constant flow, it is filling in 'spurts', ie stop/start/stop/start etc...... I have tried cold, hot & warm water, all combinations of temp are...

You most likely have a smart water temp sensor on your machine. It makes sure you have the proper water temp to dissolve your detergent. Even when set to cold, it will add some hot water. It sounds like your machine is working properly. If you feel you are haveing a problem check the water temperatures in your owners manual and then check them with a thermomater in the washer. If they are not correct you may have a bad temperature sensor. Good Luck and I hope this helped. Mca0824@aol.com

Fisher & Paykel Washing Machine Smart Drive 085, 5kg. I put clothes in, then detergent (liquid), then turn on machine. But with lid closed, all taps on, all connections ok, washing machine does not...

Close your external inlet valve to the machine. Disconnect hose of washing machine from the valve; keep a bucket there and open the valve to see if water comes well. Next check the screens (filters) on the hose, clean well. This shd be done on both ends of the hose/s. Refit carefully. Check for leaks. If water still (don't forget to open the valve!) does not enter machine change the inlet valve of your wash machine. Can be done yourself. Rate me pl...........if helped.
