bissell cleanview bagless still works good but the noise is just too loud.

I can't stand to even use it, so either there's a way to fix this one or I am going back to buying the cheapest one I can find again.

Any suggestions would be helpful. i have taken it apart and cleaned it and all the stuff with no help.

I have the exact same problem. I've taken the thing apart and cannot figure out what is causing the noise. It's not the belt and it doesn't seem to be coming from the engine. It sounds like the spinning brush is hitting something, but it's not, that I can see.

Your brushroll could be warped. I had this problem on a similar bagless vacuum.

Probably either bearings in the roller brush, a damaged fan blade, or the bearings in the motor. Take the roller brush off completely, and run the VAC without it. If it's much more silent, then the problem is with the bearings in the roller brush. If it's still noisy, then look closely at the fan that produces the suction, if you can. If you see any damaged blades, then you'll have to replace it. If it seems fine, then it's most likely bearings in the main motor that will have to be replaced. The bearings and the fan blade are NOT expensive parts, but the labor at a shop to change the main bearings would be kinda pricey.

Trace the path of the suction into the tank and see if there is anything loose or ingested. Also, remove the brush and clean as best you can. Perhaps there is something caught in it. Lubricate where it makes sense with some WD40.

My vacuum cleaner start up fine, then quickly

Hi There,

This is a telltale sign that your vacuum cleaner is clogged. When the motor makes the higher pitched louder noise, your motor is not able to pull air through it, and has to strain harder because it's not able to breath.

Because you have already narrowed it down, that the noise only happens when you put the wand back into the vacuum, this means that you clog is definitely in the bottom section of the vacuum cleaner. Most clogs on upright vacuum cleaner occur right at the suction port behind the roller brushes on the bottom of the machine. Turn the vacuum upside down so that the brushes are facing upwards. Unscrew the bottom plate of the machine so that you may access the roller brush and belt. Look behind the brush roller for the opening of the vacuum where the suction port it. Look inside here and see if you can visibly see anything lodged inside. Sometimes just pushing a long screw driver into this hole can dislodge the obstruction.

If you aren't able to see anything in this port, and the screw driver doesn't dislodge it, look inside the small section of how that the wand connects into, and try pushing your screw driver down this hose to see if you can dislodge it from this part.

Sometimes a metal hanger can also effectively unclog hoses on vacuum cleaners, but just be careful that the hanger doesn't tear the lower hose section while you're pushing it through.

Also if you have another vacuum in the home, using the hose from the other vacuum and putting it inside the lower hose, or the suction port behind the brushes while you're pushing with the screw driver will also many times dislodge the obstruction easier.

Please let me know if this was able to unclog the vacuum cleaner, and I'd be more then happy to try and do some more advanced diagnosing with you for your vacuum cleaner.

have you check the roller brush and drive belt? It may be your belt has broke or is slipping and therefore not turning the brush.
Turn on machine and power head see if brush is turning if it is put a small amount of pressure on the roller. If it stops turning replace the belt

Dyson Makes a loud noise like something is impeding the

I would try changing the belt. Even though the belt may look fine it can be stretched or worn and that can cause loud noises. You can get dyson belts here:

It makes a very loud noise and doesnt pick up much

When they make noise like that there is usually an issue with the drive system (the belt and roller brush). I would try cleaning off the roller brush and putting a new belt on. You can access the roller brush and belt by turning the vacuum over so the brush faces up. There is a cover plate over the roller brush which can be removed by removing the (4) phillips screws. with the cover plate off, you can remove the brush and old belt. clean the brush off really good and put it back with a new belt. This is normal maintenence for this model and should be done every 6 months.
You can get the replacement belt here:

Roller does not turn; I was vacuuming a rug and a string got stuck in roller-took it off but now the roller will not turn. suction is fine.

The roller drive belt may be stripped, worn partway through where it goes around the motor shaft, thrown off the motor shaft, or broken. Take the bottom plate off the carpet sweeper and have a look.

If the belt was damaged when the roller brush got stuck, then you get to replace it. On most of these, the easiest way is to put the new belt around the roller pulley, reinstall the roller, stretch the belt around the end of the motor shaft, then turn the motor by hand while pushing the belt on. If the motor also has a pulley on it, you may have to remove the motor screws to get enough slack on the belt, then pull the motor into place and put the screws back in.

I put 3 turns of electrical tape around the area of the beater bar that meets the vacuum belt. This solved the problem short of replacing the beater bar.
