Becuase this model IS a DVD player, the remote controller will not allow another of the same type. This remote can be programmed to control a TV, Cable Box, DBS tuner, and VCR. It will not control VHS or another DVD player
This problem could be caused by a lot of things. The remote control not working could be as a result of the batteries so get replacement batteries. If the batteries are not the problem then the remote is old and due for replacement. The receiver on the other hand is having the problems it is having due to either old age or there is a malfunction in the unit control board which controls the functions. Simply get the unit serviced at the local dealer so it functions properly again. Hope this solution has been helpful?
It's likely that you've pressed one of the input mode buttons accidentally while changing the batteries. You've probably switched the remote for operation of a TV or DVD player or some other device.
To correct this problem, simply press the RECEIVER (TAPE/AMP) button once, then try the remote again. Pressing this button informs the remote that you wish to operate the receiver with it again. The RECEIVER button is about halfway down the left-hand side, above the TV button and below MACRO 1.
Please try this first. If the receiver still does not respond, switch the receiver off and back on again. It may have lost the communication with the remote. Resetting the receiver will usually correct this problem.
Hope this helps. Please let me know if you need further assistance.
Hi, To program the DVD player's remote control to operate your TV, follow these steps:
Turn on the TV, and then aim the DVD player’s remote control at the TV.
Press and hold the [TV Power] button on the DVD player's remote control.
While holding the [TV Power] button, use the number buttons on the remote to enter the two digit code assigned to your brand of TV.
Note 1: If your DVD player's remote control can be programmed to operate a TV, the TV brand codes will be listed in your owner's manual. If you don't have your owner's manual available, click here to go to the download center and download a copy. Note 2: Many TV brands have more than one code. If the first code does not work, try the next available code.
If the TV turns off, the code worked correctly and your remote control is now programmed. If the TV stays on, repeat steps 1 through 3 with a different code listed for your brand of TV.
Note: If none of the codes listed allows your DVD player's remote to control your TV, then the remote is not compatible with your specific model. Let us know if you want something more else please accept the suggestion. Thank You for contacting Fixya.com
Please determine if the "Audio" button is actually working.... after pressing the audio button, can you still control the DVD, if not then the remote has switched to the Onkyo. Although, this is not 100% conclusive, unless you have a 2nd remote to test the Onkyo with, it provides a sound basis to proceed.
Assuming the remote is transmitting and the IR receiver on the front of the Onkyo is not otherwise blocked, likely faults include the IR receiver, input to the Micro processor, and the Micro processor.
The most probable fault is the IR receiver.
Thank you for using Fixya, and if I can help you further, please let me know.
Hi! Perhaps the distance between the two energy plugs (ZR6001 & ZC4001) is to big. Also it could be, that other systems plugged in the energy supply of your home are disturbing the signal. I've no really connectio0n problems. Length is about 20m of energy supply line. But I've problems with controlling DVD Player of marantz, directly connected to the ZR6001 (REMOTE IN/OUT correct connected) by ZC4001. There is no chance to start DVD Player which is in standby, also no chance to control playing with PLAY, STOP, PAUSE, NEXT, LAST etc. Perhaps you could help me with my problem? THX
