Verify the wireless network power switch is on. The wireless network device in the computer can be turned on and off. The network power switch is located in different places on different computers. See the User Guide for the location on your model. Most models have a blue LED wireless antnena - c01481711.jpg that glows when the wireless network switch is on Verify the wireless network connection is enabled The connection to a wired or wireless network can be disabled or enabled. To verify the status:

  1. Right-click the Network Connection icon in the system tray, and select Network and Sharing Center .

L-555/ no hard drive indicters or wireless or memory lamp but powers up

First - re-seat the hard disk and reboot the computer. If the computer does not boot up then reboot and go into the BIOS configuration to see if the BIOS detects the hard drive. If it doesn't detect the hard drive then it could be faulty.
Then the hard drive needs to be replaced in the computer/laptop, Windows installed and the computer or laptop's device drivers plus your programs etc. to get a functioning computer/laptop again.

How to replace a hardrive

1) open the computer and find the old hard drive.
2) remember where the plugs and pins are placed on the back of the old hard drive.
3) disconnect and remove the old harddrive from its bay (sometimes there is a locking lever you must move)
4) make sure that the backs of the hard drives are identical in port sizes.
5) replace with new hard drive and reconnect all plugs exactly as they were on the old one.

I just installed a new hard drive on my compaq nx6110 and I am unable to get onto the internet...any ideas?

Dear Friend,

Your new hard drive doesn't have anything to do with the internet...In fact, if you are using wireless connectivity, you must pair with your wireless router.
The other solution will be to install missing drivers and, you can review them by right clicking on My Computer or Computer then, manage. There you would have to click on Devices located on your left panel and then you will have yellow triangles or yellow marks / ! \ meaning, that you have to reinstall them in order to make it work.
Recommendation: Use another computer, go to HP.com then support, when there look for your model number and select your operating system then download each drivers that are missing from your computer by using and external flash drive, then, take the flash drive to your laptop and install drivers.

Good Luck!!

Replace Hard Drive

Replacing a hard drive is simple, remember everything on a computer concerning hardware is plug and play. Remove the old hard drive and find a suitable replacement, it should snap right out, there may be a couple screws holding it, but once you have it out just plug in the new drive, format and partition the drive and put up your operating system.

HP LAPTOP NC6320 wireless not working

hmm..sounds like an unhappy device.

the wireless is under control panel, wireless setup..

if it's not there, go to network connections, and see if it's there, and if so, enable or repair the connections

as to the stand by..take care of that later..it's in control panel, display, settings or screen saver,

check your computers warranty here 4 FREE
