If I understand correctly, you have an outlet for your iron.
You have 60 minute timer with two black wires.
You want to connect 60 minute countdown timer to prevent iron from being left ON.
Good idea, and perfect application for this timer.

Your outlet has two insulated wires, one black wire that is connected to brass screw and one white wire that is connected to silver screw.
If you have 2 blacks and 2 whites, that is also covered below.

Here's is how to wire timer to outlet.
1) One black and one white:
Remove black wire from brass screw.
Connect this wire to either wire on timer.
Connect other timer wire to brass screw on outlet.

2) Two black wire and two white wires.
The easiest way to proceed is try one black outlet wire and if it doesn't work then try the other black outlet wire:
Remove one of the black outlet wires from brass screw.
Connect this wire to either wire on timer.
Connect other timer wire to brass screw on outlet.
If timer works to control outlet, then wiring is correct.
If timer does not control outlet, then try the other black outlet wire.

The circuit board where the battery plugs in not making a good connection and gps wont come, the wiring from car lighter to gps is good , canyou solder wiring to power circuit board.

Hi, yes it's possible you need a soldering iron and 60/40 rosin core solder, remember that soldering iron can make serious burns so be careful, and always work with the device disconnected from any power source.

I'm looking for a timer to replace the thermostats for 2 furnaces in a riding arena.

1) Yes a spring-wound timer will work.
Woods 59717, Intermatic FD60, etc
There are other models depending on length of time, and color of timer

2) How to wire to 24 volts
24 volt circuit has 2 wires going to load.
Cut one of the wires and then connect cut wire to timer.

3) Buy Woods 59717 or Intermatic FD60 timers at Amazon.com in home improvement.
Both products have 1 year warranty, and both are strong companies.
Spring-wound timers last many years, and set-times are approximate.

What do I do with the ground wire?

You posted under Woods spring-wound timer
Loop ground wire around screw that holds timer to switch box so wire touches metal flange.
Look close, and each switch box has gap that fits ground wire so electrical device does not sit up when attaching ground wire this manner.

The alarm on the iron comes on and switches off the iron

What sort of Alarm do you get?

Does this iron have the 3-way alarm feature:
1.) Tilt over
2.) Laying down alarm (like 60 seconds)
3.) Idle alarm (like 15 minutes or longer..)
Can you give us more details on the alarm you get getting, and when?

How do you wire the intermatic fd60mwc timer 220v? there are no lugs for the second line and load on the right side of the unit.

You can turn off 240Volt circuit by turning off 'one leg.'
240Volt circuit has two hot wires that come from breaker box, so 240V has two legs:
These hot wires are usually labeled L1 L2 in wiring schematics.

FD60 timer is usually SPST and has two wiring terminals, but some versions are SPDT and have 4 wiring terminals.
Cut L1 line in half, and put each end into FD60 terminal.

I wouold like an outlet timer that I can press 'go' and the outlet is on for 15 minutes then outlet turns off. Is there such a thing?? So the curling iron is on 15 minutes then off when i forget to unplug

Option 1: Buy ordinary 15 minute countdown timer installed in place of a switch, and then wired to an outlet.
http://waterheatertimer.org/Countdown-timer-horsepower-ratings.html

Option 2: Programmable plug-in timer with countdown option. 1800Watts max so double-check watt rating of iron. If this is residential iron, then it will be safe.

We have a fan 60 minute push button timer we purchased and installed with a 3-wire system. WE need to purchase another one but they all have 4 wires now. Where can we purchase a 3-wire one.

It sounds like you have mechanical push-button type timer.
I need more information to avoid guessing which timer is best for your situation.

I'm not sure what a 3-wire system is?
Add a comment
1) How many switches control same fan
2) What color wires inside box.

Is this
3) low-horsepower bathroom fan?
4) other fan, for example: higher horsepower attic fan, 3/4 horsepower industrial kitchen fan, or 1-horsepower whole house fan?
5) Is this your home or is fan for continual commercial use?

6) Is this a countdown timer that turns fan OFF automatically after 60 minutes?
7) Or what kind of timer are you looking for.

Open following link for list of home-use countdown timers and horsepower ratings of countdown timers.
http://waterheatertimer.org/Countdown-timer-horsepower-ratings.html

Spring-wound timers do not require extra Neutral wire, and can control 1 HP whole-house fan.
The push-button timers each require Neutral wire to run electronics inside timer, and they range from 1/6 HP to 3/4 HP which will work for any bathroom fan.

My Leviton 6260M is wired to a bath fan according to the diagram provided: Green wire connected to ground, White neutrals connected together, Black wire connected to 'line' feed wire, Blue wire connected...

Countdown timers are made to work with bath fans.
Leviton countdown timers are stout product with 1HP rating.

It sounds like timer is bad.
Wiring sounds good. Make sure you don't have Load and Line wires reversed. Try reversing Load-Line wires and see what happens.
Another thing that affects electronic timers is line noise/interference. If replacement timer does same thing, then noise is suspect. Try timer on another circuit without fan. Try another brand timer. Update to newer LTB60 Leviton timer. Use cheap circuit tester from home center to check outlet on same circuit.

Switch not ticking after setting time. model Woods 59717 60 minute indoor in wall timer

Spring wound countdown timers turn on the load after dial is turned.
If your timer is not counting down, and turn knob is not rotating back to the start position, then timer is no good.
This timer counts down even if it's not connected to electricity, so the problem is not wiring.

Is the GFCI frying my intermatic timer?

First off is the black wire feeding the gfci going to the brass colored screw? If so make sure the black wire coming out of the timer is attached to the brass screw on the gfci and the white colored wire is attached to the silver screw. If these are all connected properly it is possible that the fan isn't wired properly.
