Propane Gas Dryer (Whirlpool DUET Front Loader) not drying

The dryer is not drying correctly or completely!!! The vent is totally clear and the gas thermostat is set to High. The unit was inspected by a qualified service tech who found no problems with the unit..!!! I am @ a loss !! I paid good money for what!!! A dryer that takes 90 mins to dryer a normal load, My gas bill is much higher due to that fact also. After 18 months of aggravation I need to find some resolve. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

I have the same problem,, it takes forever to dry my clothes. I checked everything,, vent is clear, took dryer apart, to see if it is full of lint,, nothing, it was clear. Mine is a gas dryer, that I had a qualified repair man put in a propane converter kit.. Worked great for the first 8 months,, now for the last 3 months it gets longer and longer to dry clothes.. I thought this was suppose to be a energy saving appliance. any help here.. thanks

I have a 6 year old Whirlpool Duet gas dryer - take forever to dry clothes - is rarely hot - mostly cool - had a tech out here and seems the dryer worked for him. There is a sort of static sound from time to time. There does not seem to be lint clogging anything. Dryer does get warm from time to time.

Huuum At your service!

Did this tech do some wash to the dryer and feel that there was no heat?
He was not a good tech

Sometimes this can happen when the vent line is clogged.

1. Check if the lint filter is full and needs to be cleaned.
Try this first.
2. Then check if the outside screen covering the exhaust vent if this is even half blocked
with lint there will be no heat! This screen is to keep small animals out!
Try checking this and if it is clogged or the spring loaded door is stuck closed.
Try to clean the lint out of the corners of the flap door,
and or remove the screen permanently!
NO ANIMALS LIKE TO GET BURNT,IT'S HOT IN THAT TUBE! They sense this and stay clear.
It is 2 years that mine is off and all is fine.

You will be fine
Bless You huuum

Dryer does not dry clothes completely

If your machine is taking that long to dry. You either have a clogged vent to the outside or your gas valve coils are bad. You can check to see if it is your vent by disconnecting it for one cycle. If the unit drys in time then clean your vent. Click Here to see what a clogged vent can do. Click here to see gas valve coils.

My front loader gas Duet dryer has left brownish stains

Sounds like bad drum seals. Check all the way around the drum at the wall for sections of seals missing or an uneven gap around the drum at the wall.

Hope this helps.

Check your exit vent outside of your house... what you can do is remove vent hose on back of your dryer... run dryer and feel the air coming out of the vent right behind your dryer.. now reinstall your vent line and check outside,,, see if you feel the same or about the same air flow... if your air flow is block, then your heat will not come on regularly to dry clothes... good luck
