Question about Cameras

4 Answers

I own an sd850is digital camera. I was shooting pictures when suddenly the camera started blinking red and an (alarm?) of some kind sounded. I turned it off and later discovered all my pictures of my vacation were gone from the card. Can I recover the pictures? Could they be in a different file or folder? Please help!!

The camera is a Canon Powershot sd850SI

As I mentioned before I seem to have lost all my vacation pictures from my ProMax card. The camera,a CANON SD850 was performing normally when it suddenly started beeping and flashing. I turned it off and when I looked for my pictures there were none on the card. The camera still works. What happened & can I get my pictures back? I tried to download the card but it said there were no images. The numbering went from 100 plus to 1 of 1. Thanks for any help you can give me.

So I believe you already tried connecting your memory card to a card reader and check if there's any file inside it? if yes and there's no file on it you can try a third party data recovery tool that can recover files from your memory card...

Hope that helps.........

You can recover 99% of images with Sandisk Recovery Pro 3.2.
Providing you do not use the card and if the card is being used "STOP" and you can still recover any images that have not been overwritten

The flash is not working.... when you put the flash on, a red dot is blinking , & the shoot button is sluggish

The blinking red light means that the flash is charging. All compact digital cameras have a delay when the shutter release button is pressed. Press it halfway down to autofocus, then all the way down when you are ready to take a picture.

I wanna take a picture but i dont know how to make the camara wait 10 sec before it takes the picture

Hi,

Self-timer shooting:

This function lets you take pictures using the self-timer.
Fix the camera securely on a tripod for self-timer shooting. This function is useful for taking
pictures when you want to be included in the photograph.

1 Select [ON], and press Z.
2 Press the shutter button fully to
take the picture.
• Pressing the shutter button halfway
locks the focus and exposure.
• The self-timer lamp lights for
approximately 10 seconds, then starts
blinking. After blinking for approximately
2 seconds, the picture is taken.
• To stop shooting while in n mode,
press the shutter button fully again.
• To cancel the self-timer, press Z.
• The self-timer mode is automatically canceled after one shot.

Note:
• If sequential shooting is attempted in self-timer mode, the camera shoots 5
frames at most regardless of the setting.

Hope my info fixes your problem,
Thanx for using fixya,
cheers.

Slow record time/goes into standby mode

Hi,

It sounds as if it is working mechanically, but there is a software fault.

Try downloading a new driver for it (or use the CD which you may still have)

They are available free Here.

(Please contact again if this does not solve the issue; If it does, Please rata as Fixya! so others may benefit. Thanks.)

Can't get the camera to Flash

EXACT same problem. Tonight I tried to take a picture and heard a loud pop sound but I didn't think it was my camera... anyway it took the picture but didn't use the flash. Later, my sister went to take a picture with the flash and it made the same loud pop noise and now the camera wont work if the flash is on.

Canon Powershot A75 blurred LCD display

It sounds like the focus element in your lens is not functioning properly. Does the lens retract completely when you turn off the camera? When you push the button does the camera attempt to focus the image? If you do not see any change in the image when you push the button, and do not hear any sound - then your focus motor is either jammed or malfunctioning. David Millier Advance Camera Repair

Shutter will not close. Appears to be locked with shutter out. Slider is ok. Not batteries. Cannot take a photo. Nothing shows up on quick view. Red light blinks for a short time. Makes a beep sound....

it´s normal in that kind of cameras it can be fine but after u shoot one pic with flash will happen the same, to fix the problem u will need to send it to a repair centre, they will isolate some stuff inside to prevent that from happening.

The indicators light or blink as follows.

" Orange: Flash will fire
" Blinking Orange: Camera shake warning / Insufficient exposure
Lower Indicator
" Yellow: Macro Mode / Manual Focus
" Blinking Yellow: Focusing difficulty* (single beep sounds)
* When the indicator blinks yellow, lock the focus before shooting.
